Why are the Brimstone missiles SAL instead of ARH?

Brimstones in real life are fire and forget, not fire and keep locked like in WT, why is this the case? It massively hinders the effectiveness of ground pounding in air battles because you have to keep it lased, if you turn away too far or get killed, so does the missile (Don’t bother saying it’s for balance, because almost every other air to ground missile at close to (or top tier) is fire and forget, case in point being every variation of the mavs

because theres no counter to it and its too op according to gaijin

Because gaijin does not believe that giving them ARH would be balanced since it is lock on after launch.

Irl they do still have the laser guidance mode so that mode is technically realistic.

I know they have multiple modes in real life, I only care about the ARH mode, picking and choosing which weapons are fire and forget just like real life is bullshit, it’s just because they’re British, if they were 'Murican, they’d have their full capability but because they’re from the tea slurpers, we suffer with SAL only

Even the US dont have ARH air to ground missiles.

If it was US tech, they would just give them some IR missile instead. Or a laser one with more range. (Looks at agm123)

18 FnF Brimstones would be incredibly dumb. If it was limited to 6 (8 at max) it would be fine.

You’re thinking of it being used in tank battles, which I absolutely hate… But with a full stockpile of Brimstones for ground battles, they could easily make the SP cost rival that of a nuke (2000 or so), but I never use aircraft in tank battles… If I wanna fly, I play air battles

Correction: if they were Russia they would have their full capabilities, and then some.

Valid point

If they were Russian, we’ve have dual pylons with 6 per pylon that flew at mach 4

The whole brimstone issue is lowkey funny because gaijin justification - that they would be too powerful and that there would be no counter - was made after K-38MT was already in game (on Su25) and in the same patch they added Su-34 which could also carry them; back then only SPAA that could effectively engage Su-34 before it launched its payload was russian Pantsir.

Just dont worry about it comrade.

Title: Same Old Story Again – Russia Gets the Favor

Honestly, what Gaijin is doing is ridiculous. This pattern has been going on for over 12 years: Russia consistently gets the best gear, while all other nations lag behind. The latest example: the KH-38 – completely overpowered, just like the Limur.

Other nations haven’t even received remotely comparable equipment or vehicles. This is no longer a coincidence; it’s a recurring theme in the game’s balancing.

Gaijin needs to seriously address fair balancing – otherwise, the game will completely lose its appeal.

That’s why the US got the Jagam Mr

And not the less range one with only MMW

There is JAGM for fixed wing

MMW missile

Ah, bummer.

That’s why gaijin added the Jagam MR because it also has an IR and SAL seeker over the normal JAGAM

The Jagam MR is probably also the most modern missile ingame with only being test fired pretty recently

Shame the IR seeker is only for the helicopter version

I guess JAGM-F could still be added with SAL mode though so it would give US a Brimstone analogue
