However I agree with you that 9.0 is a bit high for the alpha jet due to the lack of any defensive systems nor guided weapon.
For the étendard same but at least is has option for guided weapon so maybe an 8.7 too but then what can we say about mirage 3C at is own br (not even talking about mirage Vf or milan) and at 9.0 there is also the SMB2 which is even worse than the étendard…

The French Cold War CAS is suffering from last period when Gaiin decided to move most of CAS BR down, they can accept SU7 or Q5I to 9.0, but ignore most of French CAS planes.
Buccaneer S.2 is already 9.0, which has RWR, CCIP and flares, but still move to 9.0, which proves that such étendard is not worth 9.0 at all, for Alpha, that new shell is a Heat shell so still worse than BK27’s APHE
