APFSDS is less of an issue than HEAT is, HEAT will terrorise you, but this can be gotten around by learning not to walk out in front of HEAT slingers. Its a rank V, will allow you to grind more of the tree and with the T-34-85 “Partisan” being 19.46 Gjn at the time of writing this, is only $6 NZD ish more expensive on 50% off sales. Its just straight up a better purchase imo

how much power creep happened to the 2s38? from what i remember it was insanely broken
its being nerfed and up br to 10.7. still good but no armor at all.
its a good thing to buy for all in one to grind. same as bmpt.

ok but next 50% is in may 6 who is 3 months from today.
by that time, with the t34-85, you would have grinded and finish the tech tree. while still being cheaper
2S38 is good, excellent gunner and commander thermals. Crewless turret, IRST with good prox shells. It is one of the best tanks to knock out recon drones. APHE shells that work well against BMPTs. Also has Dozer Blade for digging trenches (though pretty situational usefulness.)
It is my most used tank. HOWEVER, I LOVE light tanks. It MUST be played as a light tank. If you run in face first you WILL be obliterated. If you don’t enjoy light tanks do not get it for your first high BR premium. Get the T-80UD instead.
It does pair very well with the T-80UD if you eventually want both. And the T-72AV (TURMS-T), but again, the T-80UD is better than the TURMS-T.
Would it work well for a guy whose primary tank currently is the TAM?
WELL, the TAM’s are super tanky, for “light” tanks, lol. They are quite strong, especial the TAM 2IP. The 2S38 is NOT tanky. Even though a lot of people still complain about it, it is fairly fragile, especially if played carelessly.
So it’s a sweat light tank
Yes, but heed my warning lol, if you play stupidly, you will win stupid prizes 😂 Just expect to die a LOT while you are learning how to play it properly 👍 Might take 100+ matches for you to “git gud” with it. Just don’t stress if you play poorly with it initially.

quite literally the best IS heavy tank that you can get if you dont know the stats dont talk only better one is IS7 and im not recommending him to spend 2k$
T34-85 part is a fine tank but you can easily get way farther in the tree with IS6
Also, the IS-7 isn’t even a premium. Can’t grind down to Rank 1 👎 @Wolfgang_Schmitt and if you didn’t know, adding a talisman to a non premium vehicle will NOT allow it to grind down to Rank 1 with increased efficiency either. Only premium vehicles get that bonus. So, if you do want to “skip” any lower Rank vehicles, has to be a premium vehicle (gold color background.) Squad vehicles also do NOT get that bonus.

2S38, T-72AV TURMS, T-80UD, BMD-4M are good options for all type of player.
Rush —> T-80UD and T-72AV TURMS
Support all team —> 2S38 and BMD-4M
Just for u —> 2S38 and T-72AV TURMS very good options for solo players.

Obj 279 is not a premium 😉 Useless for grinding the low tiers. Ignore it. Better off getting premiums around 10.3-10.7 if you are going to spend money, and want something high BR/Rank.

the IS6 is a very good vehicle its a better version of the IS4M as it doesnt have a massive drivers port weak spot
