Which jet should I go for?

  2. Su-30 SM (researching)
  3. Su-27 SM (bought but not crewed)
  4. F-15J(M) (bought but not crewed)
  5. J-11B (still researching)
  6. F-16C Barack II (ready to buy)
  7. JF-17 (ready to buy)

I have 3mil SL so I can’t just buy and crew everything, I want to save SL for the next 50% SL discount so I can buy many vehicles at once.

Which one should I go for? I have every other top tier jet and I don’t have anything else to grind for that interests me, just want to have fun and wait for the F-2.

If you have 18A its pretty much the same, but 7Ps are great (for sparrow) + its premium so more SL.

I played the 18A, not the premium one. Yes it’s fun but for some reason sparrows are very unreliable on that jet. For some reason they work better on the phantoms or the F-14a which have worse radars

But the F-18C Late is the TT 14.0 top tier jet. Not the aim7p spammer

su-30 SM can be fun in the sense that it has something other jets don’t have which is options on what missiles to bring to a battle, and its not so necessarily cut and dry on what or how many to bring.

R27ET gives you a long range IR missile that if you ever find yourself in a posistion where you are undetected/radar off and within its range which is pretty huge you can lock them up with IRST and collect a kill if they dont randomly flare or go behind terrain.

R27ER gives you a fox 2 option that is faster to target than your ARH, harder to notch (People get a false sense of safety after doing things that would defeat a normal fox3 only to be relocked by the flanker and have it smash into them anyways), and MUCH harder to multipath since it has way more explosive. Has the option to switch targets mid flight, is safer to throw into a furball etc. Things like throwing them at someone, they either die or notch and you lose target, you can swap to someone near them and suprise them.

And you can bring these on almost any pylon except the dual R77 racks (you can but its not worth it obviously) so you can mix and match whatever you want in whatever quantity. As far as I know every other jet at this BR or most BR you have clear optimal missile loadouts that virtually never change.

WAIT… You can bring 27ET’s on other pylons than 3 and 11?

Maybe not my bad, i mean you probably won’t want to bring more than 2 anyways they are situational (sim is probably a different story). I mean things like 2 ET 2 ER, just 2 ET just 2 ER or 4 ER 2 ET etc. theres options for you to expierement and try out what works instead of just bringing full ARH + your fox 1, and it isn’t suboptimal.

I found the typhoon was a lot more boring to play, even if it was more fun to fly if that makes sense.

If you want a plane with a full ET loadout the su34 is great.

Ohh… In my experience, the 27ETs like to explode mid air more often than not. So I usually don’t even bring them on the 13.0 flankers. But if I could bring like 6+ that could make a fun playstyle to change things a bit

Actually I also have that one ready to be purchased, are you sure? Since in the loadout screen in only shows 27ET on 2 pylons.

I skipped that entire line lol. But I don’t think it would be much fun with that FM of a whale at 13.3. Also no IRST or HMD

The JF-17 is very fun, play like a rat as much as possible

I always wondered if Fire Snakes worked in headons. Have you tried those guided rockets?

They dont as far as I can tell, not that you really want to headon anyone at 13.3

But you have 4 SD10 which is arguably the most comparable missile to the aim120, and 2 pl5eii which are concerningly good

SD10s are PL-12s. Decent range and pull, very well rounded and work in HOBS like a derby more or less. Pl5eii are worse magic2’s.

I only didn’t buy the jf-17 yet because I got the F-16D at 13.3 too, which has HMD. The jf17 FM seems fun, but having those sd10/pl12 without the ability to do HOBS with HMD would make me cry

They much better than the derby so even though the JF17 is slow i think its much better than the f16D especially since it has great nose authority so you barely need an HMS to shoot missiles at whatever target you want

What makes them much better?

In my experience they have similar range, but the derby accelerates a bit faster, pull is identical but I think the PL12 is slightly better at slow HOBS launches, maybe because it accelerates a bit slower.

PL12 has a bit more explosive payload. All in all, they are very similar. PL12 is much closer to the derby than the aim120 for sure

Great furball fighter, amazing radar, stupid number of missiles. Most fun I’ve had at top tier so far, most definitely recommend this one :)

Do you find the heavy and slow FM a big drawback, or do the missiles pick up the slack?

In the dev server I could out-push everything because of the loadout size, I spammed the r77-1 at long range just to gain positional advantage and kill a bunch of jets in the 2nd salvo. But I think the missiles were nerfed?

The FM performance can be annoying when you have to defend multiple times (one missile after another) or when you are too close to literally notch or turn cold in time, but you can kinda play around the weak FM with good positioning, I always make sure to have a bit of altitude and distance, in order to let the missiles do the job (talking about 15/20km).

The moment you have good position in the sky and you see the enemy furball that already formed on your radar, this jet can literally decimate the lobby.

I played the dev su-30 too and I don’t recall the missile getting nerfed in some areas, I might just misremembering tho
