Where does Gaijin get its information on Relikt armor?

Relikt itself isn’t being buffed.
The only tangible change is side mounted Relikt is being brought closer to front mounted Relikt.
It’s still not parity.
Front Relikt still protects 80mm more than side Relikt, & front Relikt is known accurate.

Where do they get such precise information about this armor?

I understand that once the dev server period is over and the update goes live, they will likely just announce that Relikt has been buffed and reference some bug report without providing any meaningful supporting documentation. That’s exactly what happened with the Kh-38MD buff, when satellite guidance was added.

From journalists that did work on getting & publishing information on Relikt shows how much Relikt is supposed to protect when angled at 60 degrees.
Kh-38 GNSS [which doesn’t do anything in ground battles] was an unclassified document well circulated.

But it’s based on the method of action that Malakhit (Obj. 187) ERA used, which is from the mid '80s it was known about well before it entered serial production as can be seen with various US patents for similar systems in the '90s.

They don’t need to this is a game. If they want to buff the Relik just so the new American ammo doesn’t work, they can, because it’s a game focused on realism, not a simulator.

“I feel like X is incorrect Gaijin pls nerf/buff” is every top tier thread in a nutshell

It’s normal, because in this game, the Russian era is the only thing that prevents tanks from being shot right through the front plate.

Just a shame that same logic doesnt apply for any other nations ERA or armour

The question is that other nations can still take hits to their turrets and front armor, but the Russians simply can’t

Russian MBTs can’t withstand a hit to the turret? What?

Well, they are quite a few tons lighter overall, so its not like there is no possible reason for it.

Without any era plates, no

Or literally anything non russian for that matter

Genuinely name one

I cant think of a single Western MBT that can tank a hit anywhere to the LFP or UFP without being a notably weak shell and/or also angled.

Most NATO tanks also have giant holes between their turret cheeks which will usually result in a 1HK.

Pretty much the only place where they are actually protected is the turret cheeks.

I love how War Thunder players invoke realism as a wild card when it’s convenient.

Top-tier Abrams and Leopards are examples of tanks that can’t be penetrated through the turret or the upper armour plate you have to aim for their weak spots

“War Thunder should be realistic but without russia being realistically bad” is basically the standard for these type of guys.

3BM60 can pen both tanks LFP, UFPs and Turrets (just dont aim for the turret cheeks or the think slit between the LFP and UFP)

Weak spots of the Abrams: just shoot below the turret.

Any top tier ammunition can penetrate any top-tier tank the point is that a poor shot at an Abrams or a Leopard won’t penetrate, whereas with the T-90M, the ammunition will penetrate anywhere on the tank straight through.
