i’m wondering since it’ll be the last swedish aircraft that sweden gets and it’s also my fav aircraft sooooo
The main improvement of the E variet is the engine, which finally brings the Gripens thrust to weight ratio above 1
I also believe that the missiles will improve in capacity by around 2-4 depending on how generous gaijin is
Better engine, AESA radar and two more missile pylons. The main upgrade of the E series is the extreme compatibility to the point where it can carry pretty much every single western armament, but it’s probably not that likely that gaijoobles gives us that.
How many bol rails does the gripen e get?
Same as Gripen C, the underbelly pylons can’t equip BOL iirc
Still plenty of CM, paired with a MAWS and the best sensor fusion in game
so the same as what the F15E should have, and half what the F15EX should get when its added
Darn, was kinda hoping for another fa18c situation where each pylon gets 2 bol rails. Still good, but not as OP as that one
Topic about the Gripen, not the EX, hurry off to the eagle thread
question about the number of BOL pods, and I gave an example of one with the same number and one with more
I could be wrong, or gaijin could do something random, but 640 + base CM count is still plenty, especially when they buff BOL to historical levels
Any mention of F-15s and BOL will derail the topic with braindead US mains, so please keep it to the eagle threads thanks 👍
it would be nice to have the ng (Demo technology demonstrator.)version before the E.
Why? It’s a pointless 400k rp sink.
I’d rather just go straight to e
Dont expect much tbh. expect aim120C5s or watever that is in game, and nothing more. Without meteors its just a better fm of a gripen C thats all. but atleast with more pylons gives it some viability in this day n Age of air rb
The defensive suite and electronics are where it’s going to shine, possibly best radar in the game and the best sensor fusion VIA 360 maws and a really, really good RWR, similar to Rafale and Eurofighter in that regard, but more efficient in function.
Although the area the Gripen E really excells is EW, which we don’t have yet
To be fair, it will be a better ESA radar in general than the rafale since its alot newer and prolly the same great limits of RWR to rafale which has all around 360 rwr which the eft lacks since its vertical RWR limits are only 45 and cant be proven in game
So with gaijin in mind, keep a decent expectation nothing too much. By looking the recent configurations of jets and predict further on. But as much as i dislike swedish gripens and their Magic FMs, the jet has overall become non meta or remotely competitive in Air RB.
However if u play Esports. Gripen is still a much favored jet today due to the FM and CM it gets
I kinda doubt that, because as advanced as the radar may be, the gripen just doesnt have anywhere as much electrical power available to run it compared to the f15s or similar
id argue where it really excels is marketing
yeah you are right it has really good marketing but still it def has good EW. there is no way several countries have bought it in the last few years if it didn’t
tbf im pretty sure most of those countries couldnt get f35 or more advanced f16 variants, so they didnt have too many options
because I doubt its EW is on the same level as f35, and its price point is similar despite being gen 4.5 vs gen 5
