Considering we only got one single Rank VIII MBT over the course of the entire year 2024, (Rank VIII was introduced in December 2023), I wouldn’t be holding my breath lmao
We have access to, the Challenger 3 Technology Demonstrator is a new generation MBT. The thing is you attached concept for next generation MBT like the AbramsX. I believe the EMBT is the nearly achievable vehicle from all of them but only time can tell.
Without any outside hint or internal and official information for newer MBTs for, specially the three major nations is game, I don’t think we’re getting vehicles such like the EMBT and the T-14 Armata so soon, in around 1 to 2 years.
The Challenger 3 TD is mostly just a Challenger 2 with some upgrades to demonstrate what the Challenger 3 would look like, hence why its a demonstrator. Its not really a new generation MBT.
It’s missing many features that make the Challenger 3 next generation. Luckily the actual Challenger 3 prototypes are now under production, featuring new armour, engines, suspension, ammunition etc…
Therefore. I’d still say that there are no truly next gen tanks in War Thunder at the moment as the Chally 3 TD dosen’t count
I found so funny when it was firstly shown in public, for some reason they covered the lower glacis. Like that ain’t going to solve itself, yet a demonstrator, one of the huge problems with this tank still exists, since, in today’s scenario, a Challenger 2 isn’t fighting a T-80 with full cover when Western MBTs were planned to fight the Soviet MBTs.
The solution already exists?
They can simply mount the composite block found on the Challenger 2 to the lower front plate or alternative design new lower front plate external armour.
The Challenger 2 and Challenger 3 share the same hull structure.
The problem has been solved for decades, I dont know why people still bring it up
Placing ERA blocks doesn’t means solving the problem, just adding mass, something the Challenger 2 and variations has a lot. Honestly, as I don’t know exactly what’s it’s composed of, I would consider only against chemical weapons.
If in the future we see the production model of the Challenger 3 TD with additional armor peak AMAP made by Rheinmetall Chempro GmbH, which if I’m not wrong, equips the Strv 122, to really offer those good protection. Speaking in War Thunder’s scenario, without or using the Dorchester Armor Package don’t change much of the vehicle performance against kinetic weapons.
Those are not ERA blocks, that is composite armour, the same as the rest of the tank
