I dont understand why aim 7f and 7m are a mod in the f18 if they are literally the same missile, since monopulse isnt coded in the game, anyone know if there’s a diff b/w both of them?
7F’s uncage is 55, 7M’s uncage is 60. I think that is the only difference.

That’s kind of annoying, having to grind all that just to get an extra 5 degrees in the cage, I think they should remove the 7f as a mod from the f18 all togather

Those are transmitter-dependent statistics. If you scroll downwards to the additional notes row you’ll see you’re comparing the “Variant used by F/A-18A, F/A-18A [GBR]” of the AIM-7F and the “Default variant” of the AIM-7M. If you compare it against the AIM-7M used on the F/A-18A (the rightmost AIM-7M column) you’ll see all those statistics are the same except for the gimbal limit.

idk exactly what it does but i think it affects how well the missile follows the path given to it by the radar, so with lower transmitter power the missile is more likely to go offcourse
in the meantime - what’s the point of having a F/A-18A at the same BR as the F-4EJ Kai?

better Maneuvrability (the F-4EJ Kai doesn’t have any “Agile Eagle” modifications, present on both F-4E and F-4S)
better Missiles (AIM-7M > AIM-7F)
better Climbrate
better Rollrate
better Rate parameters at any speeds from 300km/h to Mach 1.1 (F-4EJ Kai best Turn Radius is about 2 times the F/A-18A’s one)
better Nose Authority and Instant AoA (at any speed)
really, the F/A-18A should be 12.7 BR already
