What's the justification for this level of negligence?

Almost 7 years, almost 7 years…

Despite the many claims, about exploits, bugs, bad designs and complaints about the lack of attention by the devs, our community is still the one most ignored by gaijin, it seems almost deliberate

Today i was reviewing some changelogs, and in the Update 2.45.1.65 changelog, i came across this:
Matchmaking

  • Ground Simulator Battles lineup 3_1: mistakenly left KW I C 756 (r) has been removed.

And then I wondered, “well, a lot of pp complain about the m18s, puma…, so it makes sense that they removed it, as it was facing rank 2 tanks, so… yeah”;

But then, going back to the old forum from June 2018, I see it: It was there, it wasn’t there only for weeks after being added, or months, BUT. BASICALLY. 7. YEARS. BY MISTAKE

And not only this, but many many more threads about bad matchmaking and stuff the were simply left there, in the old forum, and didnt continue here due to the frustration of the people who complained(and certainly caused many to leave the game)

As I’m kinda of compiling stuff like this, I would like you guys to tell me about relevant fixes that were ignored/delayed, and a possible justification for this case(why so long to address this?), and how even though they removed the german KV1, dont they fix the other OP tanks matchmaking.

gaijin likely prioritizes bugs and fixes by how many players are affected

From yesterday:

Makes sense, as long as the players play the same way, there are no negative impacts/incentive for them to solve the issue.
I thought about what if the players simply quit, but the playerbase is so small that they might just close Sim battles altogether. It seems like there’s simply no escape from this situation

I’m constantly seeing UI fixes for things that seem exceedingly rare, instead of you know, fixing things that affect gameplay…

This genuinely annoys me mate.

When we have such blatant issues in Sim like the airfield defenders glitching out on the runway it’s hard not to get annoyed when you see Gaijin’s fixes with the latest update which most of the time is something like this: “Aircraft cannon rounds increased from 600 to 610 rounds”.

You took time out of your day to change the amount of rounds some aircraft have yet you completely ignore the massive actual problems that have been repeatedly reported for years.

Since beginning of the project we cannot get a proper Maneuver Kill from a crashing enemy in front of you. A shooter game that cannot credit a score properly, Karl.

Then comes along changelog 2.48.0.26 → 2.49.0.4

They change the smoke trail for the MIM-72E/G for their new update even though it needs to be removed entirely, meaning it’s an easy fix that shouldn’t take over a year and still not ACTUALLY fixed.

Even though it’s simple and I found it in 5min

Another example of the bug report gibberish, about fixing of the german cannons from 2 years ago:
https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/fsQsRgkWZkcc

Even after all this years of frequent complaints that the issue was not solved, the moderators simply locked the conversation from more people to provide further details to solve it, and left it the way it is

Also similarly “easy” fixes (the bug reporter literally found the file that needs changing and the value that needs changing.) that actually make a significant impact (such as maximum allowed deflection of elevator fins that turn some planes from their realistic stall-happy creatures into on-rails autoflyers still have no resolution.)

Likewise we have seen nothing about the P-47s either.

I wish this was proper Open Source like my other games. It’s such a luxury to be able to just PR a bugfix when you find it.

I’ve actually started playing Birds of Steel (War Thunder Alpha basically) on the Ps3 and it’s shocking how far backwards we’ve gone in some areas.

Sound design is considerably worse now with almost all aircraft. They sounded so powerful back in the day.

Flight models/stall characteristics are considerably worse now with certain aircraft. On Birds of Steel yanking the stick will stall every aircraft and that absolutely will turn into a spin if you don’t release pressure.

Even graphically believe it or not we’ve gone backwards. The water/sea graphics are much better on the older game and it looks lovely flying through the clouds with the water running off of the canopy. The fact the old game has cockpit damage and oil that’ll splatter over your screen and yet WT has largely removed it is sad.

Finally weapon damage seems far more realistic than WT. I was playing the Dynamic campaign last night and it was refreshing seeing my two Shvak’s actually struggle somewhat to bring down a He-111 instead of blowing it to pieces in one small burst.

A little project of mine at the moment is to make a comparison video and share it here.

We still had these 9 years ago (Sheriff’s Sim Shack has WarthunderSim clips where he was praising warthunder as an il2 main! It’s crazy how much we lost :/)

Wow, seriously, thanks for the input
I’ve always found it weird for the p47N to behave like that, so differently from the others(about the F4u, thats also news to me).
I’ll make sure to register this, and I would like to comment that I started to gather some people’s attention in reddit(the only place out there with a significant amount o pp), so maybe in the future we will be able to demand some kind of rework in how the moderation(or the forum, in general) works as a way of improvement based on the community input/feedback. I honestly don’t see any other way of convincing gaijin to address these issues.

like the dakimakura’s texture bugs, purely unplayable we must change them (they changed it already)

No they don’t, Naval game crashing has been reported for YEARS. Guess what, it’s still happening and will continue to do so. Send in a bug report and the reply is "this is not a bug refer to technical support“. Then after contacting technical support the reply is…"send a bug report“. You just can’t win!

Either that or by how well the reporter is know to CBR mods, and then its only if its an easy fix by changing like one value in the code

The push is for content over accuracy. For “fairness” over historical. People have been asking for an update that focuses on major fixes primarily for a long time. As stated above, the only way you make it known enough is to no invest. To show that the system is not working, and speak with your wallet.
