I’m curious what “top tier” costal ships can get added to the US TT because it seems that other than the PT-810, the majority of them feel underwhelming or lackluster compared to other nations like the Russians.
I’m stuck with the douglas and though it’s good it struggles in CQC.
I’ve checked the suggestions list, and there hasn’t been any ships that seem good for top tier.
Right now everybody’s top tier for coastal is weak compared to the Russians. They have tons of cold-war era fast attack boats and anti-submarine corvettes. No other nation has Coastal vessels that can really counter these in the 4.0-4.7 range.
But the US does absolutely have some possibilities that could help out:
The Pegasus-class hydrofoils, which could be armed with Harpoons, would be a good fast-attack option.
The Brooke-class frigates use the Tartar missile which is already in-game, so wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to add.
Actually, no with their indigenous ships. Only Brooke class and Oliver hazard class frigates(or destroyer escort) can have possibility of high BR because of missile, but they will be hard to use as they have seriously low firepower.
This is the most serious part with US coastal as currently other nations have indigenous, or sub tree option that can be placed in 4.3 to 4.7. Good US coastal subtree option of Israel and SK are all gone too.
Even with that list it is not that promising.
Export market of frigate and coastal boats on Cold War times are mostly place for Europe and USSR, not USA.
Especially for coastal boats, afaik the only survivor that can be keep by manufacturer rule as nation it uses not belong to other nation as subtree, is CPIC, which is again not that promising due to absence of torpedo and quite low firepower 30 mm(Of course, better than any other US gunboat at this point)
