What are the Artillery shells modeled after? Is it a tank shell or a shell exclusive for Artillery? Do these shells change along with the BR to have better pen?
They stay the same at every BR.
No clue about their stats, though.
Its a Large caliber HE shell though right?
Large enough to kill most tanks in one direct hit.
But some heavy tanks are nearly immune. I think those shells only pen around 36mm.
Which would put them at around 105mm caliber.
So like the shells on the 105mm M4 howitzer version?
It’s the same HE model used for all tank guns, likely a 152.4 mm round, similarly to the 3OF25 found on the 2S3M, but the game doesn’t mention which vehicle is firing, what the caliber and what exact ammunition.
If memory servers they are 152mm HE. Don’t quote me on that.
They have a hard time killing tanks like the Tiger II H or the Maus.
So they don’t have the penetration power of +150mm shells.
This also is true, so most likely 105 then
It’s 152mm. I’ve been killed by arty and killcam is the same as if a 2S3 bonks me
Same…A shell blasted my Sd.Kfz.234/2, simply because it hit next to me and the frag penned my armor. Yes, I think it feels lke gettng hitt by the SU 152 or the KV 2.
Is it just me or does the 2S3M looks like a Soviet copy of the German Nashorn?
Oh…Thank you!
It’s just you… The 2S3 was a post war soviet SPH that was a further development of the 2S1
Dont recall where…but read some apparently knowledgeable opinion that it was 150mm+
(Somewhere on old forum). This is hear say…
I do recall that the reasoning was that most kills were NOT direct hits, but near misses…a direct hit kills almost any tanks…
There were replays of near misses that killed vehicles…sometimes with lots of damage…and some “vibration” :)
