im almost in rank VI of Japanese tanks without any premiums and i was wondering whats better a sherman or STA-1 i would like to so i can decide what tank i should research
Both are generally good in their respective Br. ST-A1 has access to HEATFS rounds so probably best to go with that. Will have a easier time penning well armored heavy tanks.
If ya want to experience Japanese vehicles, ST-A1 is the way to go and there is a strong line up at 6.3. If your used to playing shermans or American tanks, probably ok to go with the 76W and the M36. A bit lacking in line ups but the Chi-To can still hold their own at 5.7 if played right. Can always watch youtube videos to help you decide what you want to focus on first.
I am going on my own experience with the ST-A1 and the 76W. The 76W is still far better.
considering that the only sherman expierience i have is a jumbo while being at my friends house ill take the STA
Go for the sherman line first, the STAs is painful to play when stock tho it does get much better once u got the HEATFS. The only one i would recommend u goes for is the STA-3 with it 4s autoloader.
Jumbo and 76W are very different tanks. I’m doubting you used the stock ST-A1 before and give you a hint DON’T play it stock.
The STA is better, but if you are grinding down the line get the sherman first so you arent jumping straight from 5.0 to 6.3 with nothing in between. That BR range is a bit of a hole in japans tech tree so id almost try and research two of the 6.3s before putting them in your lineup. Either both STAs or one and the Bulldog (which is also very good)
Sherman by a country mile. If I had to grind through that BR range again I would avoid using the ST-A’s entirely. Far and away my most disliked tank line in the game. Try both but definitely have all the non-ST-A 6.3’s grinded out first before you try that line

U gotta get it eventually so don’t worried about it too much.
STA-1; guns a million times better, so is mobility, you just lack armor, so play it as you would a light tank.
