What should I buy?

Yeah I saw this on F-4E while Nuclear Thunder event

OH and VERY VERY last thing
Should I buy crew points? I wanted to upgrade G-tolerance and everything related to it, and crew points are pretty cheap imo (I have 2015 GE right now)

Few tips, mostly for ARB if I may:

  • you want to play F-4S like missile bus
  • that means stasing high, staying fast and staying far away
  • try sideclimbing at the start of the game to like 8k alt ans gain as much speed as you can
  • this gives your missiles more energy which translates to less time to target which translates to higher hit probability
  • take more chaff than flares, since your primary mean of defense against IRs is not to get one shot at you, especially in uptier
  • stay away from furballs
  • multipath is last resort, not your primary mean of defense (important as you proceed beyond 12.0)
  • you can make your own loadout, which means you can run 5x sparrows / 2x sidewinders
  • HMS can lock targets only at certain range, otherwise you have to rely on radar
  • effective range for your missiles, assuming you have high alt/speed, is like 20km for headon with Sparrows, 5km tailchase for Sparrows, 1.5km for tailchase with Sidewinders
  • fire at ranges beyond 20km only when you have missile to spare, enemy is at same alt as you or you want to just supress the enemy, not neccesarily hitting him
  • do NOT contest either R-27ER or AMRAAM. You will lose, better write off the missile and go full defense.

G tolerance is essential, upgrade other stuff too till you can efford expert crew.

Is it better to buy 17500 points for 1000 ge or 1500 for 100 but multiple times?

What level is your crew slot currently?

Imo, you really only “need” to get your crew slot high enough to get Expert Training. Not only the boost, but you don’t start on the discounted/free Ace training UNTIL you get Expert Training. Especially a good idea for a premium you are going to use a lot.

Man i do t really know lol, open the calculator and calculate GE per exp point i guess

I dont do math 😭

I just did this yesterday lol. Google AI actually makes this SO much easier. It has been spot on with exactly how many points are needed, and how many GE’s are needed to get high enough for Expert.

Only info that is needed is exactly what the crew level currently is, and what crew level is required for the F-4S’s expert training.

okay okay i will do, thanks everyone again

Also also! Crew Skill points are rewarded based on RP per match, NOT match score. So, premium time + premium vehicle, you get a TON of points. Really no need to push it past the Expert Training requirement imo. You will get to the Ace training and high crew level quite rapidly. Especially if you are grinding out new tree from Rank 1. You should have Ace on it before you finish. Again! Why it is a very good idea to immediately get Expert to start the Ace points.

Ah, from Rank IV. You will still probably get free Ace before you are through grinding with the F-4S.

Let me know your crew skill level, and what the F-4S says it needs for Expert 😉

I put it in spoiler in this message:

And Phantom needs 30 lvl crew for expert

Oh ok! You only need 1x batch of 100GE to push it high enough to get Expert then. You could push it higher with 1k if you really want to, but the Expert training is the only thing I strongly recommend 👍

Big time for G tolerance. You might even push it to max if you want to spend more GEs. Either 1k, or batches of 100 until you get the G maxed. Next good idea is repair rank and probably the vision/ awareness skills. Your repair and reload times will be extremely long until you’re repair rank is high enough to apply the repair skill. You can hover over the repair Rank and it’ll tell you if you’re under still. If it’s under the requirement you get the max max repair and reload time when landing on the air fields.

Oh, and reload. Though, I don’t think that is affected by the Repair Rank.

Weapon maintenance is another “good” but not critical one. Will only matter for your guns, I do not think you will be doing base bombing? But it has ballistic computers and CCRP, so prob not a big deal even if you do decide to do some base bombing. Napalms will be better than bombs for ARB, less weight. I think it only takes 2x napalms to get a base.

Could make this preset if you did want to try for a base. 5x Sparrows, 2x Sidewinders, 2x Napalms, Gun:

Gonna check Legion’s loadouts quick to double check how many per base. My loadout and bomb chart LEGION's Ladouts is finally 100 % completely up-to-date

HRM, he’s saying bombs, buuuuut ehhhh that’s a lot of weight. Sec again, gonna check his other page to see what the Napalms can do at that BR:
(He might be showing bombs so that you can go for ground units as well as bases, but man, that is a TON of extra weight. Idk if that is worth the slow down.)

Ok, yeah 2x of the Mk 79’s should get one base:

About the US toptier premiums:
Abrams is okay, but I feel like toptier in Ground RB is not that great rn since I havent played it in a long time and dislike the bmpt and the heli fire and forget missile spam.
I do not know how much the f-18 gets uptiered(since all things above 12.7 can get fox3 missiles) , but speaking about 12.0 f4´s: they are not bad, but your playstyle is mostly hugging the ground and punishing players for bad possitions. I would say I am a okay/decent player so here are stats for some 12.0 f4´s(note: the skyflash missile is quite a bit different and the british f4´s do have the best engines so take it with a grain of salt):

note: whether you play f4s or f18 both planes do struggle at bvr at 12.7/13.0 since the USSR gets the 27er´s which are the fastest missiles you can have.

those are pretty much the only stats you really need in high tier air(in my opinion).
1st gload
2nd stamina
3rd/4th repair rank and repair speed
edit: maybe also keen vision

Do not

Last thing you want to do in Phantom is being caught huggin the ground.

Phantom does not have flight performance nor CM count nor weapons to do this.

Depends, I would do this if I know my enemy has the 27er/ fox3 missiles since it is the least cm intense strat. I can agree on like downtiers or 12.3 br´s when you do this. But after like the first headons you take you can fly high since most fox1´s are already being used.

probably the cm´s are the only thing I would disagree.

Edit: I probably would do the same in the f18, but the difference is they do have performance, but you dont get the situation where your missile is the best(12.3 and 12.0)
and I dont consider the aim7f roll since most players dont know/do it.
