I was watching a replay of the P-61 to see how the radar scanned and I noticed this forming around other aircraft

I’ve seen this aircraft, and I guess that’s the gunners radius of defense, as every single angle in this aircraft is covered by the gunners, I think it’s that.
please forgive the random screen shot off google, but the light green oval just represents the detection of the target, the size is dictated by how big it appears on the radar scope. The P-61 is a very early radar with poor directional accuracy so the the “blip” is quite wide. In the attached screen shot you can see the green blip is smaller, as the F-15’s radar is more precise.
