I have never used the 8111 port or any related plugins; I only have a rough understanding of them. I am a content creator for the Chinese-speaking community and am currently writing a fairly long and comprehensive tutorial. However, I ran into a problem while writing the chapter on optimal climb strategies, because determining the best climb strategy requires knowing the specific excess power (SEP), but as far as I know, SEP is not directly displayed in the game. Many players I know capture data through the 8111 port and then calculate or display this data with external programs — including climb rate, SEP, angle of attack, and so on. Personally, I believe such programs might be suspected of being external cheats, so I have never used them.
