What is France's Tier VIII Premium Jet going to be?

I’ve already made a topic about what Russia’s tier 8 premium jet was going to be a month ago and since we already know it’s the Su-30Mk2 AMV I’m wondering if France might get a shittier or decent Mirage 2000, or another copy and paste F-16 premium, what do you think?

Mirage F.1 MF-2000 with RDY-3 Radar, MICA-EM/IR but similar Maneuvrability than actual Mirages F.1’s

I wonder if Rafale A ever had any sort of operational equipment (similarly to Mirage 4000)
If so, it would make for a neat premium (Initial F404 powered)

nope - never armed (not even mock-up)

Well, that’s a shame…

but C01 / M01 / B01 were using at least mock ups

Apparently it was presented with some weapons at Farnborough 1986 airshow
There are also some photos with red missiles (dummy ones, I assume) on the fuselage, presumably MICAs

i’ve seen with only Magic-smoke like in wing tips, but nothing like this one : have you some photos to share here?

Potentially

same as MF2000 ^^’

There are some export models of the Mirage 2000 (the 2000E models) that could be interesting. I believe both Egypt and Qatar operated models that have the ability to launch guided bombs with a targeting pod besides their standard A2A armament.

Prior to Su-30MK2, it used to be the case that Gaijin added two types of rank 8 jet vehicles:

A 3rd generation aircraft that fires fox-3s:
Viggen D

Or

A 4th generation aircraft that fires fox-3s;
Swiss Hornet
Hornet Early
F-2A ADTW
Canadian Hornet
MiG-29 Sniper

This meant a Mirage 2000 with Super 530D or a Mirage F1with MICAs would fit right in.

But the addition of the Su-30MK2 broke the door right open for an addition of a Mirage 2000 with MICAs since it was a 4th gen aircraft with Fox-3 missiles.

And if Gaijin was greedy, they’d see the potential with it due to the Rafale’s performance as well as it potentially coming this December during the holidays.

Currently the Mirage F1 premium is the second most played premium plane in the game, a Mirage 2000 with MICAs would shoot up the chart easily crushing sales expectations.

Hopefully the addition of more premium players would mean that the Rafale’s winrate and statistics continue to go down.

France is the last country left to get rank 8 premium jet as of this recent update.

I think we’ve got a bunch of good options available here, we just have to hope nobody shits the bed when making the final choice.
My personal favourites would be the following:

  • Mirage F1 EM VI: F1 with MICAs and Hammer bombs, very multifunctional, perhaps only held back by having mid flight performance with very good loadouts)
  • Mirage F1 EQ-5/6: these Iraqi models are the most advanced variants bar the EM VI, they feature targeting pods, laser guided weaponry and improved radar.
  • Mirage 2000 EAD: Qatari variant of the Mirage 2000, has all the bells and whistles of the 2000C and on top of that you get a targeting pod for laser guided armament. Radar is a downgrade compared to the C-S5 though iirc.
  • Mirage 2000B-501: test bench for the Rafale, features an improved radar and the ability to carry MICA missiles. No internal cannons so will have to rely on the external gunpods. Basically a worse Mirage 2000-5F with a better radar.

Qatar is using mirage 2000-9 which is basically a -5 with air to ground ordinance and anti ground radar

To be even more precise, aside from the radar the 2000-5f currently in game is basically a -9

In my opinion a rank 8 premium would basically be mirage F1 MF 2000 from Morocco or a mirage 2000-9 two seats so no gun.

Egyptian mirage wouldn’t fit as they are closer to a CS5 with little air to ground capability

Don’t know much about Iraqi upgraded variant but I think they wouldn’t be on the same level as the MF2000(AASM, MICA, DAMOCLES POD and engine from Mirage 2000)

Yeah I got my variants confused, the EAD is a variant from the UAE, not Qatar. Qatar does indeed use exclusively -5 variants.

Egyptian Mirage 2000 variant falls within the same category as the 2000 EAD, so basically a C-S5 with a targeting pod. Integrated some glide bombs as well iirc.

The Iraqi variants are indeed not on the same level as the MF2000, they were built long before those technologies were available after all. You do however have one critical misunderstanding, the MF2000 is not equipped with the Mirage 2000s engine. Some modifications were made, but it’s still an F1 engine with marginally more thrust. Fitting an M53 engine actually requires some fuselage changed as indicated by the F1 M53 prototype.

Indeed the engine is just an improved variant of the 9K50
