Well, if your account is created via steam then you can’t use the standalone client because there is no way to log in with the steam account. If you have created a Gaijin account and play using the standalone Client then it’s going to be really difficult (maybe even not possible) to use the steam launched version.
when i created my account i clicked on a link from Mr phlydaily i did not have steam account i only start using steam one year ago !

am having very weird bugs and stuttering maybe because am using steam?
i used to play war thunder on laptop and without steam but never had any issue and game slow down mid game !
