what is the IR flashlight on tanks like the lep 1 and m48a2 for?
As the name implied, it is a flashlight to illuminate target for u and ur teammate but only visible in IR. More useful irl where there are stuff that doesn’t have IR NVD.
how do u use it?
Unless u play night battle and like having a massive beacon saying where u are, there is no reason to use it ig.
can i us it during day battles?
No, there is almost zill reason to use NVD during daylight unless ur tank have thermal.

Its pointless, because in day time no one will have their night vision on, because you will get blinded if you turn on nightvision. Its only somewhat useful when players are also using night vision and looking directly at u and can get blinded otherwise it gives away your position and doesnt help much
It’s sad there are people who have never played night battles. Being blinded by IR flashlights was just a normal day in War Thunder.
