Soviet made up ships have entered chat
tried some cruisers out of curiosity, 24 minutes alive trading blows with multiple cruisers including rainbows from an Atlanta and nothing past yellow hull damage, did verify it does still happen for BB in a match after though.
Kinda curious how Graf Spee plays currently and if it’s able to smash cruiser hulks just as much or if this is purely a BB thing.
damn the crews are stronger then the hull
I want to say this is a bug currently, but it feels intentional. There’s a lot of things in this update they didn’t exactly think through - like the 20km spawns at all BRs for a map, or the minimaps showing islands that don’t exist - so it’s possible it was due to a complete lack of care and testing.
Just for perspective, battleship hulls are ~89% more vulnerable to explosions from last update and are currently ~118% more vulnerable to explosions than cruiser hulls. I could be doing basic division wrong, but that’s what I gather from the multiplier changes.
LOL bug report rejected because the reporter claimed it “takes 3 shots” to lose “un-sinkable” when it’s actually around 3 salvos per compartment with HE… Gaijin needs to hire people that actually apply some common sense to the reports.

The bug reporting site is pretty much impossible to search without going through pages upon pages
Are there other reports, do the devs know, do they care?
Or is this the future of naval and should I cut my loses now because this is pointless and a waste of time actually trying to play objectives rather than hiding in spawn and hoping others get shot at first
Died to Unsinkability for the first time because of this… Great.
I saw this post in a thread yesterday and remembered i also saw the changes of hull strength modifiers in a changelog (as on the last picture of the linked post) a while ago. But even after an extensive search on the wt page changelogs and changelogs on the forums and datamines i couldn’t find it. Could be it was just for dev server or something, can anyone help? Anyways the increase of this modifiers by 2x and 3 x respectively of damage to hull sections caused by shells and explosions coupled with the explosions of magazines (also secondary ammo) might be whats causing this absolute disappearing of whole hull areas (which ofc are not watertight to each other cause bulkheads were not invented yet in ww2 /s)
BTW what is unsinability even supposed to mean lol? When you have it you can always pump water out and patch holes but suddenly, when 3 or more of an imaginary number of hull sections are somehow turned “black” now all those hull sections are magically connected, all bulkheads opened and your whole ship is taking in water? wtf is this? thats supposed to be realistic? wows health bar is more realistic than that
I am going to stop playing naval, this is absolutely absurd.
I have destroyed BB’s with a HE salvo, and lost my Scharnhorst with a cruiser HE salvo.
Either they fix the values back to what they were a while ago, or I don’t plan to go back.
The maps are too big now, for the limited gametime. Especially the 3 cap maps. Maps are huge. Caps are very far away. There’s no chance to reach them before everything blinks down. There is an intial battle between floatplanes and some PT boat players for caps and then the match is basically over.
Just had one which blinked down and both battle squadrons were still like 12km out and miles away to physically reach a cap. Barely any capital ship kills. And its hard to not fall asleep while you close in for 10 mins to make you guns relevant.
Horrible. Gajin just double map sizes and didn’t change anything else.
I have played Soyuz a few match since I finally researched it yesterday. Gaijin nerfed hull health since this update, but now this maybe the only way to sink Soyuz when using other ships. So, if Gaijin fix the hull health like last update, I think Soyuz will definitely become the ScharnNO.2.
Yeah no the ffirst two compartments were destroyed while I was at 90% crew and hadn’t taken a lot of fire.
Lost a third important compartment and sunk shortly after
So from .025 to .075 to .05 for KE
And from .45 to .85 to .015 for explosions
They cut damage from HE but still doubled the amount of damage hulls take from rounds itself from last patch and its still too much.
This still feels like an intentional attempt to nerf survivability and still discourages people from pushing objects and hiding in spawn instead when we already have a problem with BB camping.
why did you even sink from those 3 black sections? i losely remember reading something about the first and last section of the hull were excluded from the unsinkability calculation. Man it does feel nice how they are trying to somehow find a way of modelling capital ship damage now, after something like 4 or 5 years of naval by just having a random number generator throw numbers into the code, wait 6 months and see if player numbers went up or down.
But cool that you can now pay 70€ for ships as well, to play them on a gamemode that isnt working. If they really wanted people to play this mess they could also, idk fix that stuff, somehow balance the new top tier ships and put out a video or a blog explaining naval, the damage models, the stupid hull durability mechanic, doesnt really feel like they actually want people playing naval
Sorry poor wording, meant I lost a third actual important compartment right after that screenshot was taken.
ah i see so it does actually work like that. first and last section are excluded. already thought im going crazy because of the heat
It was when ‘unrepairable breach’ exist. AFAIK, position of section is not important in unsinkability loss. So, degenerated I have to say.
Another part of it that the hull section multipliers won’t fix seems to be greater sensitivity to explosion now by other forms of ammo, specifically torps, than before, as well? I’m back to wondering if we should bring them again in all cases. Might be nice if you could control those reload numbers as well more precisely than yes/no in some cases too.
Lower tier a lot of DDs are melting to 25 mm because of the on-deck torps popping more reliably than before, it seems.
Please vote for damage model rework.
