What happened to being able to lock onto air targets from a long distance away?

Hey Guys,

Really sorry if this is not the intended use of this forum or anything like that. I’ve been a warthunder player for a number of years now, but I haven’t played in a bout a year or so… The last time I played, and always since I started, I was able to lock onto or get like a red marker around air enemy targets by clicking my middle mouse button while pointing at them, and I could switch this red marker around to keep track of people on the mini map and so forth, but when playing recently after coming back from that long break, I noticed I am no longer able to do this… Was this feature removed from the game, or is there some control option that I need to enable to get this back?

Check this Control setting in Common, Basic: " Lock Target"
(There are a bunch of radar/weapon locking controls now, but this one sounds like the one you are describing)

Mine as shown is the right mouse button. (I can’t remember if this was default, or maybe the default changed to middle button?)

The two settings below “Lock Target” might be about switching targets (without having to be looking almost directly at them), but I’m not sure on that one.

Yeah the odd thing is, this control is set to middle mouse button for me, as it always has been, and yet the behavior of this target lock has definitely changed, I can no longer lock targets from far away, the little red indicator seems to only activate randomly on it’s own when I get close enough to a target or follow it around for a long period of time… Not sure if they patched out the old behavior and this is now the new intended behavior or if something on my end is just broken.

Check your settings, I think the default button was X.
