Hi guys, I’m about to buy a new PC, but I don’t know whether to choose the RTX 5060ti or the RTX 5070 for War Thunder. If any of you have a 1440p monitor and an RTX 5070, could you please tell me how many FPS I can achieve with it?
Most review sites I’ve seen recently recommend avoiding the 5000 series entirely - but generally any decent GPU will handle WT - perhaps check ouot some reviiews - plenty of YT vids on the topic.
Well, i don’t have a 5070, but i have a 3070 running 1440p at ~145fps with all graphics settings maxed (only water quality and terrain displacement are one step lower than max) and on DX11.
Most newer Nvidia cards really like running DLSS as well, though i run it at native resolution, so i get no upscaling artifacts.
So a 5070 should not have any issues what so ever.
I recently got a 3440x1440 monitor and a 9070XT. Not exactly what you are asking but relevant enough. I get around 250 fps on “movie” preset and around 750 on ULQ.
9070XT is about the same performance as 5070Ti for reference.
Ok that sounds good but i will wait for more replies
Another thing I want to mention is that War Thunder allocates around 11GB of VRAM at 3440x1440 at “movie” with “Ultra HQ textures” on my system. 16:9 1440 is less pixels but not by a lot. Normal 5070 has “only” 12GB of VRAM.
I am not sure if all of those 11 gigs are used or only allocated but it’s good to keep in mind. I can post some screenshots later.
And also I am using Vulkan and not Direct3D. Not sure if that affects anything but worth mentioning.
EDIT: I’ll test at 2560x1440 later for VRAM usage.
Hey, I have 1440p on a 4060ti / Ryzen 7 5700x. Mostly maxed visual settings with DLSS, I keep some on low for spotting purposes & get around 200-250 fps depending on maps.
If the prices are okay within your region (the 5070 is £100 more then 5060 ti here) then the 5070 will get you more performance. Up to you if it’s worth the extra cost.
But honestly you could be fine with the 5060ti and save money.
In my country this pc costs 1426,26 dolars so i think that im gonna stick with this one and save up money for him.
But in wt dlss is so bad its looks like dlss 2 on performance mod
What do you mean? I have zero visual or performance issues with DLSS.
I mean after RT update dlss taa and fsr has become unusable its look so bad
That sounds like an issue on your end, there was quite literally no change for me at all. It looks really great.
and hes right gaijin FUVCED up dlss
my framerate is totally fine with DLSS but the Game looks so blurry with DLSS (for both quality and performance) RTX 3080ti Ryzen9 5900x
If there is an actual issue then make a report on it :) You can bug report it here (just search a bit first so that you don’t report something that is already reported and known about): (Gaijin.net // Issues)
A guide on how to report bugs can be found here: ([Navigation] Technical Knowledge Base | War Thunder Wiki)
Gaijin thinks thats a bug they cant accept their game bugs for gaijin everything is good there is no crash issue in game dlss works perfectly 1080p resolution playable
In my honest opinion, if you have some more budget to spare, a RTX 4090 (as it doesn’t rely much on frame generation compared to weaker RTX 5000s models as the 60 series) will hold you for plenty of years, but if you’re really interested go for RTX 5070, even with the 60ti, comparatively it will give you more performance, in my opinion, again RTX 4090 is better.
I own a RTX 4070 which is a nice starting point and been working out perfectly with no performance issues in any game that I’ve playing since, although is not the best still gets the job done, same can be said for RTX 5070 which should give you more breath (a lot) when compared to RTX 5060 and other models.
I got a monitor which can be used at 3840 x 2160 and the results are these, I don’t bother with resolution so I keep myself to 1920 x 1080, during the gameplay I noticed a severe increase on my heat, specially regarding my graphics card reaching around 70°C which usually is kept at 55°C, honestly my cooling system is very poor which is something I need to improve on my machine.

To conclude, I’ll never use 3840 x 2160 again, it’s funny though, but for me is ‘overkill’ and might cause future performance issues due to overheating, I was kinda scared when I saw the temperature, on my end but it’s up to you which resolution you may wanna take, as you said 2560 x 1440. Anyways, I hope this helps you to have a ‘north’ for which piece you should take.
Thank you very much bro this helped me alot thank you !
