What exactly do spall liners look like?

I’m guessing there is no real one answer to this question and it varies between vehicles and nation, but what do they look like in general. I’ve seen them on the T-90M where they look like a Kevlar tarp on the walls of the vehicles, but on vehicles like the Stryker, Bradley, M113, they seem to be different. On the Stryker, they seem to be hard white panels or something. I’m not really sure, which is why I’m asking here.

That’s how the most efficient spall liner in the game looks like

POV: You shot the empty spots of the Autoloader and the ammo didn’t explode 😦

We all know (and hate) that feeling.

skill issue gaming

Me when I destroy 2 charges and a round and it doesn’t explode:

As you said, they vary. Spall liners are basically internal spaced armor. As long as it doesnt spall much and can block spall, it can work as a liner.

Pretty sure the bradley and others use a composite

Sounds like an issue that affects every tank in the game ngl

Autoloader would spall and ignite the whole crew and the ammo

Imagine this. The carousel is half empty. If you shoot the empty section, the spalling won’t ignite the ammo in the filled section. Pretty simple

hell, even the wiesel has spall liners (irl)

no but seriously? how will a spall liner help a Weisel?! its so fucking small that any decent hit should kill the crew.

I mean… I’ll take what i can get.
Any shot from the side might not kill it for once

50 cal looks at you for a second…

Hehe

I hate that it’s true.

It shouldn’t die from an artillery shell landing 100 astronomical units away, exactly because of the spall liners, in light vehicles it’s the main purpose of having it - catching artillery/etc. shrapnel.

I won’t argue with you because you have no clue about what you’re talking about, that’s the primary reason.

I hate how its way different irl

The CV90’s have white panels that look like this:

cv9040c spall liner – Kopi

I think most western vehicles do some version of that.
