So I’m at the beginning of Tier III in researching USA planes… and I’d like to test fly a few planes down the tree so I can decide which vehicle/branch I want to ‘shoot’ for since the grind can be SOOOO painful… but of course they are blocked out.
What does everyone think about Gaijin charging say 100-200GE to be able to test fly/drive/sail a vehicle?
Would you do it?
I just submitted the suggestion… see if it makes it past first moderator… I included that there should be one price to test it ‘stock’, and another price to test it ‘aced’. Also included a suggestion that they could make it so the player has to be at a minimum Player Level to test higher tiers. For instance, player would have to be at Level 40 or above to be able to test Tier V planes/tanks/ships.
holy monetization
Would this apply to vehicles that are red and locked, or all vehicles?
Would you only get to test drive once?
What happens to the GE once you unlock the vehicle? Do you just lose it all?
If this were to even happen, it should only EVER apply to vehicles that we are unable to test drive on rn. I’m not the biggest fan of this idea, but it does seem like an easy, low-effort way for Gaijin to earn a little extra cash without affecting the F2P playerbase, like me.
I wouldn’t use it, but I don’t see why it couldn’t be implemented. Surprised Da Snail hasn’t thought of it first.

Mostly locked (RED) vehicles… but maybe pay a little less for a vehicle that is unlocked so you can test it ‘aced’ instead of stock…
Only once… so pay 100-200GE… so ~ $.50 to $1… to test a vehicle once…
Another way to look at it is say you’ve spent all your time on the US tech tree and want to play another country… You like strike aircraft for RB… Do you want the German DO-335… or the Russian SU-6? For $2 you can fly them both to see…

& I’m mostly F2P as well… but it irks me that I can’t test fly the planes that I want to… I’m trying to decide between the F4U-4B and the AD-4 and having to grind through both branches can take A WHILE since I don’t have a premium account.

Tbh I could see it being a feature of premium time
The ability to test drive stuff itself is nice but a bit niche to be paid, so making it part of the basic premium account offer makes sense imo
That’s a good idea too… make it a ‘perk’ of getting a premium account…

Yeah. Anyway, even though it doesn’t replace test drives I advise you to just ask people here who have grinded a given tree, to tell you what you should grind. Usually they give some good advice, I always ask forum users when I’m in doubt or need help
