And probably su-57e…
This is the first im hearing of this
Insane if they end up doing it though japan is gonna end up turning into a best hits nation for air
You’re trying to use my point about Lockheed to erase national origin, but you’re missing the core distinction between integration and engineering.
The Leopard 2AV is in the German tree because it is a German National Product. As the War Thunder Wiki states, it is an “experimental German main battle tank” and a direct evolution of the German Leopard 2K project. Krauss-Maffei didn’t build it as a private hobby; they built it using German state funding and German engineering IP. In War Thunder, a “nation” is just the label for that country’s defence industrial base. If “Krauss-Maffei building it” doesn’t count as Germany, then “Chrysler building the Abrams” doesn’t count as the US, and the whole tech tree system collapses.
My point about Lockheed and the Meteor is that testing is just a job. Lockheed acting as the “IT guy” to make a European missile (Meteor) talk to a US plane (F-35) doesn’t transfer the “Title Deed” of that missile’s design to the US government.
You can’t have it both ways:
- If the Leopard 2AV belongs to Germany because they designed and own the IP (despite testing it in the US), then the Meteor remains European (despite being integrated by Lockheed).
- If you truly believe “Testing = Ownership,” then the US tree should also have the Leclerc, Challenger 2, and every Soviet tank ever trialled at Aberdeen.
The 2AV is the literal bridge between the Leopard 1 and 2. Putting it in the US tree because it went on a “business trip” to Maryland in 1976 makes as much sense as putting a BMW in the US tree because it passed a California emissions test. One is a location of a trial, the other is the origin of the soul of the machine.
I dont think every plane they order is gonna end up in their TT(japan), since there would be no reason to play other air TT’s if they end up getting like every 5th gen and 4.5 gen
But still most of them would, especially Indonesian jets such as Rafale and SU-30/27 which would be added once they finally add Indonesian subtree. Jets like Gripen E has still lower chance though. (However if it is added then that completely destroys the point of grinding Swedish air tree IMO).
Them adding the rafale would also kinda cuck the french tree as they operate the f.4 standard which is almost what we have ingame leaving them with only the ordered F.5, while japan also has these other jets.
Reinforces my point that adding all of them would just drastically reduce the incentive to grind other TT’s
Lets be real adding any of these jets will cuck the operator nation
Unfortunately i have a feeling gajin will be forced to add the rafale at some point just due to how meta defining it is
Dont get me wrong the SU-30MKM is good too but thats about the only top tier jet japan has right now that is competitive in the current meta Its an unfortunate result of japan having very few domestic aircraft
If i gotta be honest: just let the TT die or make a new united ASEAN one, them giving it as many sub tt as they did was a mistake
A lot easier to justify Rafale IMO, JAS39E is basically the same capability wise. This way they get something that feels an actual upgrade over the Su-30 in flight performance.
That’s just me tho
Like i said adding the F.4 rafale would remove any reason to grind to france top tier for now until the french get the F.5, as japan also offers other good plane options
Japan and Israel are missing 14.7 jets. Its only a matter of time that these nation would recvie Rafale (Maybe japan could get something else) from Indonesia and Greece. I guess it is the time when minor nations get their vehicles disturbed just like major nation. After this, there would probably be no reason to grind nations like Sweden or France (IMO)
Isnt sweden also missing a 14.7 (additionaly i would not say the J-15T is a 14.7 worthy) isr could get the F-15IA they ordered and for Japan see above
What can they even get now? (Talking about Sweden)
I don’t think Gaijin gives vehicle which are on order and not delivered yet but that is also an option
idk what finland operates tbh
MKM is better than Su-30SM not because of TGP but because of bein lighter while having MAWS, tho it has worse radar so its up to personal preference.
Current SM also has access TGP which is on par with DAMOCLES, not to mention you dont need any TGP while carrying 38MT’s because its has in built seeker that performs better than most TGP’s at the same br.
Next Finnish jet would most likely be F-35
Could of course always see export success but I would imagine by the time it’s being added into the game, it’s only being tested by the manufacturing countries (France/UK).
And Lockheed is an American company. The F35s being used are US marine F35s, flown by US marines.
The 2AV was built with the 105mm because that’s what the US was going to use. Germany wasn’t going to use the Leopard 2 with a 105mm.
Who else tested the XM1 and considered purchasing it?
It’s not me saying “testing = ownership” it’s Gaijin. Multiple nations have vehicles they only tested. Japan has the Tiger I, which never even made it there, and the M47. Sweden has the T80 and Hind.
Premium flanker does not have KH-38
I suggest making sure you know what loadouts aircraft are able to carry before commenting on them
-
They’re a shared pool of F-35s. They can be flown by US marines (and they are, for some sorties), but the majority of the time it’s British pilots doing the flying. This would be the case for literally any country wanting to integrate a new weapon in their F-35 or another American jet.
-
Germany has built multiple prototypes before the 2AV with a 105mm gun because it was a testing standard back then? They didn’t just do it at the USA’s request.

If “technical compatibility” was the only rule for loadouts, the game would be a mess. The JAS 39E Gripen or Su-30SM are technically compatible with the MICA, but they don’t have it because those nations don’t operate it. I’ll even point out that current in-game Eurofighters having Brimstones or SPICE 250s in certain nations is historically wrong; my stance is that those should be removed once their actual, national munitions are fully implemented (ahem, Brimstones). We should be pushing for historical accuracy for everyone, not using one mistake to justify adding a US Meteor that makes even less sense.
