Not really my point the 9L has a 80% hit chance against an afterburning target rear aspect irl. Even when flaring.
In game it’s a 1 flare basically

yeah i think that and the bad heat sig modeling
Cause the F14A was not the sun IRL same with harrier
Could be but you get my point with the missile thing. Even badly modeled, a bad plane can do well enough.
As for the harrier it’s almost as cold as an alpha jet irl. Its highest heat output is from the front where it is only as hot as a dry power F-4 phantom.
yeah
Any next gen ir missile can actually get flared if you jam the WEZ.
Problem is its much harder compare to previous generation missiles.
this holds true its far more flares you have to use to flare a AIM-9M compared to a AIM-9L you have to spam then move for the M AIM-9X will probably require whole new strategy
If you got the proper technique and angle you can actually flare 9M rather easily.
Problem is most of the time you will not be in proper angle Xd.
Well realistically the strategy should be “acknowledge the threat of a 9X and stay out of its range”
Hey, Do you have rough idea on how much AIM-9X pull? Is it 50g or 60g?
yeah thats how most people i know stay away from the Claws
check the claws its got a 9X
Iırc it pulls around 60G’s however I don’t know if it can pull those number in single plane mode or dual plane mode.
I am talking about IRL and not in game. Most website say 60g. In game its 50g
Don’t trust ingame stats.
For example IRIS-T can pull 60-70G irl while in game it pulls barely 50G’s.
Same goes for R-73, irl it can pull 60G while ingame its limited to 40.
I will say from playing the typhoon they’re insanely easy to defeat though because of how broken suspension tracking is. Basically, the missile has both suspension and gate width IRCCM, however gate width IRCCM is only active while the missile has an active lock. What you can do is get one flare in the missile’s FOV with some careful rolling, which disables the gate width by suspending tracking, and then you just defeat it like a 9M lol.
Irl AIM-54 pulls 25G but is limited by duel plane not being allowed ingame
Phoenix should be able to pull 25G in single plane mode if I’m not mistaken.
true but will you have time to do that when its on a plane like a F16C or F15CGE
As long as you keep your distance, yes.
And if you try to close the distance vs a jet with a 9X you deserve whatever happens to you.
its complicated its only allowed 17g cause it cant pull 25 g in without duel plane according to devs im still unsure as to why as its murky as to why
