What can save American top tier air?

Well that is what Meteor had in real life

Without jacking the thread, I’ll just say that MICA seeker in game and in reality have little in common. Catastrophic consequences are inevitable.

thats literally what it uses, besides most top tier missiles shouldve a seeker like the micas

Based on what evidence?

the fact that amraam has been sitting on an accepted report for a half angle sensitivity even smaller than mica’'s for almost 2 year now

It’s not quite I don’t think. Fireball made a mistake with the report.

But it is a reduction nonetheless

No, it isn’t. The fundamental problem is GJ assumed 120 works at the bottom of the Xband (8Ghz) which gives it roughly a 14.8° FoV. MICA was assumed to work at the top of Jband (19GHz) which gives it a FoV of 7°. That’s ok, but then you need to model this thoroughly. You can’t leave it at that, because you get imbecilic results like Rafale has been scoring for the past year and a half. So, wanna take worst case for one missile and the best for another? Fine, but then you need to roughly half the seeker range on MICA, but GJ didn’t do that and that the crux of the problem.
What GJ should’ve done is make 120 work at an average Xband freq. (10Ghz) and MICA at 14GHz, as Flame suggested, and then both seekers would’ve similar tracking range, as currently in game, but radically smaller difference in FoV, ie. 9.4° for MICA vs 11.8° for 120 and that would make the gameplay radically different and much better for the game.

AIM - 260 spotted for the first time aboard a Superhornet.

I mean, if it is in fact not even a lower beamwidth than MICA, theres even less of an excuse for gaijin to not have fixed it by now…

The fact the bug report has been sittimg as accepted for 2y remains true, as does the fact that the MICA has been allowed to dominate in part due to it having a vastly superior seeker to literally all competitors for that time as well. There is no good excuse for gaijin not to have fixed this bug report by now.

And we still don’t have the IRST droptank lol, hopefully next update

Yeah…

Would AN/ASG-34V1 allow F-18 to launch AMRAAM?

I doubt an IRST can guide a fox 3, but I may be wrong

Probably, everyone else can.

(IRL)

Depends on the IRST. Idk much about USA’s to say for certain tho

Most can does vary from Aircraft to aircraft though and ranging information is dependent on the IRST

I think the funniest part about this is the F-5s being easy to learn is historically accurate lmao
