If Gaijin were to give it any pod it would be Damocles.
not installed yet, they are planning it. now they use this ↓
external pod is only a rumor so far, never seen installed or even in official brochure
a revisited GPS guidance control would be good for this type of weapon too
as for ground RB, the range isn’t too much of a concern imo because of the GPS guidance
and then a simple fix to this for ground RB is to add a reward for shooting down ordenance as this type of weapon can be tracked and engaged on most top tier SPAAs
Technically cruise missiles seem impressive but in game I really think they wouldn’t be that good (in an anti-tank role), the only case where these missiles would really be usable would be in simulator mode battles where these missiles would allow you to hit bases or airfields from afar.
For tank battles, as long as the game is limited to GPS aiming for these weapons, players don’t have much to fear because there are much more destructive weapons in the game today due to their accuracy and quantity of explosives. In addition, the slowness of these munitions (generally subsonic) allows their interception by anti-aircraft guns (not all of them, but I am almost sure that the Pantsir, Tor M1 and Ito90 can stop them).
For these missiles in particular I don’t know if their presence on air battles in ground mode would be ideal/useful but I think that on certain aerial maps in enduring confrontation mode it could be interesting (it could be similar to waves of bombers or attackers), moreover these missiles would be possible to shoot down (urban legend has it that the English managed to deflect some of them IRL, I’m sure that players could do it)
in Air RB you could surely drop a couple cruise missiles for a base just after spawning
the bomb that flies itself can definitely be a good grinder but then imo they need to add rewards for shooting them down
The problem I see for these weapons in ARB is that since the majority of these missiles are subsonic, by the time they reach their targets, the planes with “classic” bombs will have already destroyed the bases. Their use will therefore be very limited.
And in terms of the quantity of explosives, to my knowledge, there would not be any missiles with enough explosives to destroy a base in one go, there would have to be at least 2 or 3.
Intercepting V 1s or being able to call in a V1 into a heavily defended and camped cap point would be a nice idea.
With a big drawback of being only a scout car on a late war high br . Could be a nice extra feature for weak tanks deploying goliaths.
Or just as a call in feature like a mini nuke of sorts, similar to bf5
They could start with a V1 interception Event.
But the more modern brs are already full enough of stuff that can kill you from the air.
I just wanna hear that epic V 1 sound sometimes in matches tbh. :(
one of the collest things in bf 5
how good that the Tornados can carry 4 Storm shadow or Taurus
so all in all nothing OP but definitely something worth adding
can’t wait
I’m not against it at all (rather the opposite even) but I think we need to put the effectiveness of these weapons into perspective, irl they are very good weapons for their role but I’m not so sure of their effectiveness in the game.
But otherwise I’m like you, I really hope they add them

Imho you might reconsider your classifications for the V-1 & V-2:
-
Even as their gyroscopic targeting system was rather advanced for their time we still talk about an impact radius of ~ 10 km around their designated targets.
-
So without opening the can of worms called implementing large cities / population centers as targets in wt they would be useless due to missing accuracy.
-
Regarding the manned V-1: There was a very long discussion some time ago.
-
On top of that: the V-2 is a ballistic missile.
Fully agree - in the case of wt Air RB in its current form the “classic” cruise missile with a nuclear / conventional warheads aimed to kill key infrastructure makes no real sense.
But in case of Air SB or a way more realistic Air RB setup on 500 x 500 km maps those weapons would give strategic bombers (like B-52s or Tu-160s) the option to stay away from any threats whilst they try to overwhelm enemy air defenses by mass launches of cruise missiles.
On top of that interceptors might have the task to use their LD/SD radars to shoot them down in order to protect viable targets.
What you call Su-34M is in fact Su-34NVO (mainly FCS updates to carry recognition pods and maybe some new types of ordnance), actual Su-34M (if it will be called so in the end) is latter plans
Absolutely, I think that using these missiles in battle simulator can be very interesting and improve the “target protection” aspect of the game.
On the other hand, like you said, we will absolutely need larger maps and more modern defense systems because with the appearance of these missiles there will really no longer be any targets out of reach of the teams.
but I agree with you
people are just scared about their range and the current discussion about them
these weapons may decide a war in reality but in game it’s just another guided (cruise) Missile that wont even track tanks
We need them but not yet, a cruise missile/stand off munition isn’t designed to hit an individual tank sized target.
What we do need them for is modern Naval battles.
Idea : Fly the TERCOM route to an enemy airfield base to be able to launch cruise missiles. (TERCOM - Wikipedia)
It seems like the new trailer showed a cruise missile. hehehe
Glide munitions > Cruise Missiles
BK-90 stronger.
