Well, unfortunately, naval is probably dead as a game mode

The developers do not listen to the dedicated naval community. They do not care.

The well made damage control system which gives depth to the gameplay, gives player more things to do in, realistically, not-so-engaging naval combat turns out to have been faulty for all the years the naval has been around.

The “unintended consequence”, the “exploit” of not repairing your modules to get competitive advantage has not been fixed for YEARS, probably because it wasn’t an unintended consequence back when naval was made by people who actually cared about this game mode and wanted players to have fun.

This change makes ships across the board live less, makes experience and skill matter less and makes it harder FOR EVERYONE to get better rewards from naval battles because now you will die in a couple minutes to our favourite bot HE spam regardless of what kind of ship you are using.

This change disincentivizes grinding to better and more powerful ships because the only thing you are grinding to now is just a bigger pinata for HE shells which will sink in the same amount of time as any ship lower in battle raiting.

This change takes away all the surprising depth from damage control mechanics. It removes player agency over one of the core mechanics of the game mode.

We have automatic aiming in arcade, automatic repairing in realistic, what’s next? Automatic rewards on a press of a button with a cooldown? Way to go, Gaijin!

This change and the way it was “suggested” and implemented is honestly just plain disrespectful to literally everyone who somewhat enjoys naval battles and actually wants the mode to develop and prosper. The developers do not listen to your feedback and do not consider your opinion to be important.

The only thing naval will be good for if the change goes through, and it most likely will, is for being a nice digital museum. Ship models are quite nice.
