Web tool for distance calculations

Greetings everyone,

I have come to you with a not so simple question regarding the mini-map on ground RB.

As you all know we have a scale on the map that allows us to quickly and approximately calculate distances.

But, using a simple ruler and some very basic math you can calculate distance much more accurately and even calculate the azimut.

The issue on that is the fact that tanks move and most of the time way faster than what it takes to do all the math, making that technic very impracticable.

So, my idea is to make a web page where anyone could calculate the coordinates with a simple click.
It would:

  • not alternate the game and it’s files
  • be completly free
  • be accesible to anyone that is aware of it.
    Something like this already existe but is not up to date and a little to inconvenient.

My question before developing it would be to know if thats considered as cheating or not.
Since it’s something that could be done by hand and accessible to everyone I don’t see where it could have an issue.

What do you all think about it?

It does already exist in form of Game Bar widget. It was shared in the Forums and brought a lot of opinions either defending it and opposing to this tool,

Which, honestly in my opinion is not a big of a deal. It would be effective in very specific situation like you have a good open space, no one’s looking at you, you have the time of using the tool and the target is stopped by all this time you consumed acquiring the distance.

But it would be a good tool in any way, I’m not opposing either I’m not sure if it’s good or not for using in the game.

Groundbreaking idea here...

Put your Mk.1 eyeballs to use and range it in by hand… Tracers were invented for a reason, and nobody likes an inactive gun.

Web Tools using 8111 implies with the section 6 as mentioned by Stona_WT a time ago about similar tool that shows the objective more clearly in Simulator Battles. But if someone was banned because of this widget, I don’t know.
