Multiple times now they have closed reports for no reason.
This one as a point, I made a report about critical Mach number being the Mach number where flow separation occurs. NOT LIMITING MACH NUMBER. All my report fundamentally wants is for the shakey cockpit at .86 Mach to go away and become smooth.
I suspect this topic will be closed.
After a years of struggling with this stupid system, I gave up. I just don’t have the energy for it anymore. Sometimes I still create a report, but if it doesn’t get any response from a moderator, I just close it myself.
My reports sit unnoticed by the moderation team for months, while yours, from what I can see, get noticed quickly.
I 100% agree with you about the issue of being completely and totally unable to respond after they close a report. And then you get in trouble if you make a new report. (And it clutters up the report site even further when people are forced to create a new report when the original could have simply been updated with more information from the reporter/other players.)
I have advocated previously for a different option rather than a full close. And/or we need to be able to have a line of communication where we can “contest” a closed report.
This is a very negative result of the lines of communication being cut off. The worst part isn’t the bug report being refused, it is the complete silencing of players/reporters. It is a detestable feeling being treated like that. I am quite convinced that the devs/reporting managers do not understand how offensive and depressing the current process is when bug reports are closed without a way to communicate.
Or… submitting a report, then spend 5 months chasing it up to get passed. only to be told to confirm the issue is still on-going and if so, to update the report with new screenshot and gamelog, which you do within 30 minutes, and 2 weeks on, still not forwarded
Yeah, I would prefer a direct response of “nope, we just are not going to do that, even if it is correct” rather just being completely silenced. The many reports that are closed with “not a bug” when we know it’s not a bug (or is factually incorrect) is enraging. “Effectively” gaslighting.
It was a big mistake to consider realism/historical/techical reports as bug reports. They should separate them, make a new report system for technical/historical and leave current system for game bugs only.
Still better than Italian bug reports on naval stuff, they get accepted with sources just to get something like “we don’t give af, not going to fix it, we know better”.
Your reports were not “closed reports for no reason”
Your reports were passed to the developers, who reviewed your report and provided a response as to why the report was rejected.
This is done after a review of all materials within the report. Once a developer answer is given, that report is marked as closed.
They cannot be left open indefinitely for further discussion, as it has already been passed to the devs, reviewed and responded too.
Should you find new information that was not previously provided or have new evidence, you can make a report. However remaking reports with the exact same evidence simply because you disagree with the outcome will not lead to it being reviewed again.
