Yea. It’s the reason why ive boycutted top tier for years… Im not going to suffer through the pain of Stock-HEAT at BR 9.0 or above.

Seems like stock APFSDS has been added to Rank VIII tanks of some nations in a recent dev server update. Here’s hoping it’s still WIP and won’t be limited to the few vehicles at that rank while Rank VI and VII vehicles continue to suffer with stock HEATFS.

Nothing puts me off playing the game more after unlocking a new tank like dying 15/20 times needlessly trying to unlock a dart round whilst waiting for a light vehicle to come across instead of an MBT covered in ERA and composite armour… I’ve easily got over 8/10 vehicles sitting there stock because i know that I’m just gunna loose my **** by simply playing with a trashy round.

where do you see that? I just checked and they all have stock HEATFS
actually as a matter of fact I kid you not you have to unlock R-60s on the MiG-29 before you unlock R-60Ms. so they are doing basically the same thing to top tier aviation. They also most of the time have a tendency to give you HE as a starting ammunition type for top tier naval.

I have a question for which I was instructed by a Forum Moderator to address to a Tech Moderator, who instructed me to address to you, so… anyway;
In the Dev Server, some tanks (Ariete AMV, Merkava Mk.4s, Type 10s, Leclercs) have received stock APFSDS; but the rest of the Rank VIIIs have not.
I was wondering- is Gaijin addressing this matter by implementing stock APFSDS, or is it a Dev Server bug/glitch? In case they are actually and finally addressing this matter, is it planned as a solution for all nations, or just those that have received the correction in the Dev Server as of now?

We made it; stock HEATFS is no more for Rank VIlI MBTs!

Lately I have been playing with the Merkava 3D together with a friend who uses Br 11.7 and I have also realized one thing, in games the HEAT-FS is practically useless, you hardly damage anyone even from the side, what I find strange is That when doing shooting tests in the garage is very different from what happens in games, for example with the HEAT-FS on the side of a Leopard 2A5 in games you don’t do any damage, instead you test at the same point in the tests of fire and you see that the HEAT-FS kills the crew members who are in the front of the penetration, it is as if in the garage penetration tests it was correct and in a battle it works poorly for some strange reason. It would be like when you test a tank in the test drive and you see that you destroy the test tanks with one shot, and then in a game you need three or four shots to kill someone.
Changing the subject, it is unfortunate that to kill tanks with the Merkava 3D you have to use the HE.
The best part of this is that, a few years ago, most (at the time) top-tier MBTs had stock APFSDS shells. There was a pretty vocal movement on the forum requesting that tanks like the Type 90 (which only had stock HEAT) get stock darts, and Gaijin’s response was to… remove stock sabot from tanks that had it. I’d really like to see stock APFSDS on every high-tier MBT again, not just top rank.

They could fix the damage model of the HEAT-FS, since this problem is based on the fact that this type of ammunition works horribly badly, it is clear that the spall liner would stop some of the spalling of the bullets, but with the HEAT-FS there are many occasions when you don’t do anything even to tanks from the side, and the funniest thing is that in the test drive the HEAT-FS in principle do correct damage, there are shots that in the test drive you kill that later in the middle of the game the damage The HEAT-FS stops on one module or only one crew member.
They just have to fix the damage model of all the bullets.
