I just played a match ground arcade with a 3 tank lineup. After I lost 2 tanks, and we had basically won, I didn’t respawn a third tank. To my surprise, all three tanks were locked.
This happens when there is a communication problem between the battle server and the main server.
Normally, when you leave the battle, the battle server should send info to the main server about the vehicles you spawned in the battle, so the main server knows which vehicles to unlock. But when this mechanism fails, your whole lineup is locked. I suspect this is what happened to you.

But OP mentioned this was IN battle - trying to get a third tank into the existing battle.

Nope… They said they didn’t go to spawn the third, and returned to hangar…
And when they got to the hangar, instead of just having the one they didn’t use locked, all of them were.
What _Poul_ said is feasible and most likely even probable.
