It sure is when I get my ass kicked as well.
When I get ten plus kills and the winning CAP point its the best game on the planet.

Good copy on all…I use the tools available pretty well but I don’t think we’ll ever get the kind of co-op experience on a routine basis that the guy I was replying to seems to want out of this game 😅
Pulling a victory out of the jaws of defeat along with a couple of other guys in a desperate rally is the best feeling IMO
Yes, as it should have a nose mounted 20 mm cannon instead of MG 17
That is precisely why this game is nothing more than a vehicle based DOD/CS clone. This is not early 2003 anymore, so this primitive gameplay found in WT should not cut it in this current year of 2024. This game should have had fully player controlled vehicles featuring interactive interiors with realistically restricted views out of fully operable kommandantenkuppel, sehklappe, & vision ports (no disembodied camera views, kill cams, or equivalent stupidity), actual historical Kampfwagen fahrerfernrohr for the driver, kugelzielfernrohr for the machine gunner, zielfernrohr & zielschiene for the gunner, & periskop views for the loader. The vehicles should have been fully operational featuring bells, whistles, lights, horns, smoke generators, usable pistol ports, grenade launchers, flare launchers, AAA weapons, co-axial, kugelblende, & tertiary weapons. Vehicle positions should have been fully crewed by actual players with automotive properties such as turning radius, climbing limitations, fording depth, regenerative steering, engine RPM turret traversing, and synchromesh or electric transmissions being depicted in an accurate manner. Vehicle availability in game maps should have been based on what was historically present in the conflict (no jets, chinese, IS-7, Objekt 666…etc on the map stalingrad, for example). The maps themselves should not have been an anti-teamwork, cookie-cutter, shoebox mosh pit with one to three cap points lazily placed in a row or column. If vintage games from the early 2000s, such as Battlefield 1942, Tiger vs T-34, or Red Orchestra I achieved some of these features mentioned above, then what was gaijins excuse for producing this inferior retrograde nonsense game?
Well uhh. Lemme explain in CS terms then:
-listen and carefully peek ( no explanation needed)
-customize HUD for a cleaner look ( settings matter a lot)
-learn recoil control ( basically learn to aim better or work on that)
-stay aware of the team positions and callouts ( minimap tends to be useful)
-dont rush in except when extremely necessary
-learn how to crouch and how the maps work ( basically the same as not rushing in/take some things slower)
-watch tutorials from people that know what they’re doing ( hard but u can defo find a good youtuber/streamer among the many sh*tterz)
That good enuf?
Almost nobody else cares about any of that stuff. You’re describing an entirely different product from what has been offered and/or ever even hinted at being offered by Gaijin in the future. It is what it is - casual multiplayer game.
Many times, I also get 10 kills and win the match, but some of those times, I feel empty and unchanged; this is due to the lack of skill and game knowledge needed in that match. As War Thunder ground maps become smaller and smaller, and the opportunities for flanking and good positioning fall to the unstoppable march of the Red Area, I find my high-scoring matches are most commonly attributed to only my fast reactions rather than more complex factors.
It just isn’t as rewarding anymore.
I haven’t played Counter Strike but if that’s what you say it is then great.
My point is that you’re out on an island expecting/demanding it to be something that it is never going to be. And I don’t think it is any way “unplayable” for what it is.
Like I said, its a free, lowest common denominator game intended for the casual masses featuring an obsolete style of gameplay from circa early 2003. If the devs couldn’t do any better than this sub standard crap in 2024, then maybe they should learn to code
I played one match in a “casual” lobby and there was already a german guy screaming in my ear for literally no reason.
