@PilotPug010 thanks for reminding me about the washed-out graphics, the blurry ground textures, and the near-seizure experience I get from panning the camera, combined with constant frame drops.
LOL, what are you on now? The X?
The graphics in the series s dropped so bad with this update like low graphics on PC feels like
I actually hadn’t noticed this patch persee to be bad on the S but to be honest I didn’t play that much and only started looking critically at it when I put it next to my new X. I guess the timing for this vid is perfect then!
No, I’m still on the same Series S that I’ve had for almost exactly 3 years.
Highly likely. I notice that it has little microfreezes for no reason, just while driving around. It’s only going to get worse.
Those of us on Series S should just wait another 2 years until a new Xbox releases. Even if it means I lose compatibility with some current gen games :(
I originally started playing WT on my Xbox One S over 6 years ago when I pre-ordered it, and seeing this post about how the Series S/X perform has made me go back and see how it performs.
It is “playable”, but holy moly you will not get anything near 60fps with these old consoles.
War Thunder on my Xbox One S seems to chug in the high 20’s to low 30’s fps range.
WT has had a lot of graphical changes since it came to Xbox, and it really shows with how much worse the games performance has got since I played it the day it released on Xbox.
I wish Gaijin would allow Console players to switch to less intensive graphical presets in order to obtain smoother performance.
My Xbox One S is WAY more powerful than my laptop, but I’d rather still play WT on there instead because with the graphics turned down it gets a very smooth 70-90FPS while my Xbox is hovering in the 20-30 range because it’s being forced to play at a graphic preset way too high.
Word on the street is 2025 for a new xbox so might not need to be that long. Don’t think a series S will hold much value by that time for reselling so keep it around for your old games i’d say.
Interesting! My One S died so i got the Series S like 3 years ago. Can remember how much more crisp it was. Same feeling i got now from Series S to Series X. Very satisfying and a recording doesn’t do it justice.
I’m a Linux user so I hate the poor performance on the Series S. Even with the Series X, you only get 2gb of system RAM to run your home screen, guide and Edge browser. I noticed recently that my console almost crashes when switching between apps or games, especially Age Of Empires II which seems to make my console sluggish. I hope they make a new Xbox next year because storage and RAM should be faster by now.
Rumours are there is a new one coming and almost confirmed a handheld (fully local with same features) within the next few years.
On peddit, they will say anything to gain more karma.
true but time wise it would make sense. Been a few years already.
