Runa keeps making a very sound point that all of us bomber players face that balances out any potential “space climbing”.

Nike I just saw the statcard just now. I am referencing irl capabilities. It states in sources that the Zeppelin ingame has an alt of “max. altitude from 3,900 to 5,300 m”.

and does not include the fact that guns go both ways and the blimp could potentially trash it

Gunners have massive dispersion for bombers in general, and the blimp has lots of blind spots where the guns will never converge.

That is a massive balancing factor already in the game and is exploitable to all fighters coming from beneath.

good thing for the blimp then that when youre attacked from 2km below the other aircraft needs to be pointed fully up and will stall and considering the angles you might even get guns on them or even climb higher because the actual high altitude is actually more than what was said

no matter how much compatible you think the blimp is in theory, in reality people will just f around with them and it will become frustrating. very fun to have 4 teammates of me cap a point or two for blimp to stay in space or come on the battlefield and do nothing but distract

its possible that there will be more memeing around than fightning with it

Every aircraft we face in the event uses AP rounds and universal belts. None of them are incindiary. Fire damage is produced by damaging enough of the internal bags to cause catastrophic damage like a fire. In air rb a few incindiary rounds and it instantly will start catching fire at 2km and less away.

Point still stands the Fr*nch 75 makes easy short process of A7V, if you cant thats on you.

No. Since all other light bomber aircraft can intercept you before the base if you fly in a strieght line.

I dunno about you, but when I was flying entente in the event yesterday I never had the blimb threaten me ever.

I usually died to the fokkers coming in to punish my prop-hangs or random infantry shooting me while buzzing them.

This includes TBD’s and so forth that hunt bombers easily.

Hell when I am not flying bombers I go in those aircraft specifically to hunt bombers at all br’s including 1.0. Within the first 10-15mins you can easily intercept 2-3 bombers that are flying at different altitudes and directions if you know where to look.

dont fly in a straight line then
it shouldnt be up for a team to need to have a light bomber that decides to do intercepting or otherwise get trashed by bombs

More game modes exist than GRB.

Blimps are harmless in ARB, probably at a massive disadvantage due to mouse aim 2km trickshots.

Idk about arcade, I don’t fly arcade.

ASB they’re probably gonna be weird but I don’t see them being an issue other than having third person gunners… but that’s every bomber in sim.
