War Thunder: The Great War!

WW1 vehicles have been in the game for ages, and are here now again. It’s already a thing. And from the perspective of a bomber player who plays all tiers including 1.0+ they certainly are compatible and have a place.

you know how i meant the ww1 vehicles. you’re not really counter arguing the reasons i stated above, youre parroting yourself. when i said about ww1 vehicles, i meant when they will have their own proper battlerating, own suitable maps and potentially their own dynamics all fully ready so we can add such things as these

To answer the alt question. EVERYTHING at 1.0 can climb to 5km which is the absolute max for these Zeppelins. So spaceclimbing isn’t a thing. And having 4 bomber zeppelins attempt to bomb does not mess anything up just as much as 4 normal bombers.

And may I ask. Fighter players play fighters for fun. Tank players play tanks for fun. So why can’t bomber players play bombers for fun. This is a game?

Fair enough, although that seems very risky to do (at least from a sim perspective). Fighters usually loiter near “pushes” to hunt for prey.

It’s a stealth bomber at BR ranges with visual spotting and visual IFF. Even being black as the night gives it no benefit as we’re playing daytime and aircraft render as black dots from a distance anyhow and are a black blob until ~2 km away.

Spotting a F117 is as difficult as spotting an il-28. The il-28 can fight back though. The F117 cannot. It cannot even run away from a Mig-15bis with which it shares BR. It cannot evade a gunpass or do anything to discourage tailsitting.

They’re massive and go down in very little damage. They’re not any more annoying than americans flying P-61s near treetop level LARPing as SPAA with third person mouse aim.

I’d rather fight zeppelins in a MB151C rather than a P61C in a A7M2. Both will get third person gunner view with point and click accuracy in sim, but at least the zeppelin is so big that I can hit it from very, very far with little effort.

we have a time limit on our matches additionally the match will be pretty dumb if we have planes trying to climb to 5km for a long time instead of fightning opponents as it should be

yes it does as the carcasses trash on the map they can block visibility on the ground level and people can absolutely abuse it

if you think that a 1.0 prop with 4m/s of climbrate in realistic ground battles has to climb to 5km is somehow good then that already shows the flaw in your thinking

you can play things for fun that have been added as compatible. not everything is compatible even if you find them fun. there are many bombers that can be played, blimps are a speciality that are not compatible yet. gaijin recognizes it and may add them when everything is ready for it

like i said their carcasses will fall on the battlefield and block visibility. a squad of 4 blimps that all trash their blimps on the battlefield will be a major problem especially on cap points

Why would they block visibilty on the ground level, they will have a normal vehicle tag for an aircraft.
So unless a Zeppelin literally scrapes the ground a magazine of 50 cal instantly kills it, I am serverly confused by what you mean. And aircraft bodies disappear after being destroyed, just as how the zeppelin disappears in the event so theres no worry at all for leftover bodies causing issues with tank visibility. And considering we have the Po-2, TB-3M, H.P.12 which are compatible and do work as event vehicles, the Zeppelin is no different.

Restrict them to air battles. Climbing is also a non-issue - idk about arcade - but cap points have a max altitude limit around 5.5km so you can easily cut them off from space climbing to block an A point and if they fly low - again, easy to hit even with WW1/interwar gunsights even in a prop-hang shot.

And no point during the event have the blimps obstructed anything after they get destroyed and their bodies disappear in a very short time.

And again they are max limited to around 5km they can’t go higher, whilst the props at 1.0 easily climb to 4.5km+ to intercept bombers.

the “tag” doesnt matter. the 3d model after it crashes blocks visibility and 4 of those will just ruin a match

theyre not blimps ofcourse theyre compatible and they work. theyre planes.

having to climb to 5km to intercept a blimp in realistic battles where time is limited is non sense with 4ms climbrate.

Again at no point have the bodies blocked anything in this event at all in terms of on the ground at all. So your fear is a mute point already resolved. And the argument of it’s not a plane so it’s not compatible is pretty small and without evidence other than, what if’s that are explainable simply ingame. Where all planes intercept them even at their highest altitude, they have enough speed to reach bombing points within 5-6mins. They have a great bombload to offsett all their weaknesses and to make sure it’s balanced because of the bombload they are very fragile like blimps irl.

And to stress again, at no point are the Zeppelin bodies permanent so far in the event nor would they be in the game and despawn really quickly not blocking anything.

definetly have

how did you calculate 4ms climbrate to 5km at 5-6min?

Time to bombing point. Not to 5kms. The climbrate past 4km will be very slow for a blimp at bomber spawnsince it’s max is 5km.

And you heavily have to sacrifice speed to gain altitude in blimps.

ok but what is the time it takes for an aircraft at 4ms climbrate to reach 4-5km
say for both 4km and 5km

Around 3-5mins in a 25min match. Bombers almost instantly get intercepted in 5mins.

non sense you have a great climbrate in those

They’re so bloody massive, you can fly in sim controls in the event as is, in cockpit view as is, put your plane into a shakey, wobbley death-stall inducing prop-hang and land enough shots to blast them out of the sky from easily 1.5km out. The only thing limiting you is the bullets de-rendering at 2km-ish.

If you can do it with sim controls, you can do it with normal RB controls (which yes, you can).

how did you calculate that?
