War Thunder "Sky Odyssey" - Changelog

I’m excited to try Tu-95M again in air battles. Bombers must provail in air battles, hopefully this change doesn’t turn out to be a snowball on lower tier battles where bombers could take more hits because of low caliber guns being most popular in airplanes at this battle rating.

I’m wondering how much is T58 taking advantage of this change. Is it good? Is it bad. M103 had a 12-year old model, hopefully this makes both vehicles easier to deal with, however I’m afraid that this change made them more armored, I heard about a report regarding M103’s nose being too thin in-game.

The Midmashina might not be so mid at the end of the day. Hopefully this make the vehicle more popular and enjoyable to play since it has stupidly low mobility compared to other high tier main battle tanks.

Yeah you are right. my testing had been mostly with larger APHE rounds and with smaller guns my belts had mostly had API. Tested with the mg 151 aphe and it really didnt do much. So yeah that needs to be tweaked too.

20mm with API works wonders vs bombers tho.

But yeah, tweaking definitively needed. api/ap-t(with larger guns) with good aim from .50 cal+ is the trick to deal with bombers reliably for now

same here since at least 2 updates ago

A bunch of corrections were made, like 3,7 cm BK 3,7 Pzgr.18 APHE and 3 and 3,7 cm M-Pzgr. and some other nice additions.

buuh… but… look at all the pictures of bombers that came back with damage! Surely because there’s more pictures of bombers that survived heavy damage than there are pictures of bombers shot down it means bombers can survive anything, right? This isn’t a famous example of a biased dataset or anything, surely!

Oh it will still be mid, since it doesn’t fix any of the major issues with the T-90M.

Uhm… Kaplam tank is Turkish and it’s been exported to Indonesia with its own variant. What has Japan to do with it?

Agreed.

Indonesia is a sub tree located in the Japanese tree.

I used the VL Pyörremyrsky to get a single gun in isolation and it was a sad sight to see it struggle xD

Decompression?
Naaaah, we want more compression!

should def be 11.0.
And on the topic of 11.0 gaijib maybe a batch 8 2A4 with DM33?

I could be wrong, but the 2A4 and M1 still have the advantage in mobility, gun handling and survivability no?

Please make Bullet Hell also a main mode.

Gun handling is mostly the same, better depression but slower vertical speed than the Leo.
Survivability is better on Arjun as it has hull fuel tanks

The Arjun has a small hull ammo storage that always fill and a turret ammo storage with no blowout panels, that doesn’t scream “better survivability” to me.

What worries me more is gaijin acting on it like they did with the F-15As. Knowing gaijin we will see a handful of aircraft go down while the rest rot from their incompetence and lack of balance/decompression.

I am not sure if you are on track with your opinion.

For Air RB at prop BRs the current picture is a mixed bag as the game play is now centered around battles of bombers vs bombers with small interference of plain stupid players in fighters. And is it just another point to prove that gaijin’s devs don’t play their game.

Good:

  • The skill differences amongst players became clear visible. Plain stupid / less experienced point and click players tail sniffing bombers die very fast

  • The current battles show that this complaining about ai gunners is not serious when players use manual gunners - the same players fight now other bombers in turret battles (my last match was a bunch of B-17s fighting 4 Me 264s, the B-17s won) very effectively

Bad:

  • If you are used to go for bombers last (as they had no game impact) nothing changes on the surface - but in the matches i played the results (win / defeat) rely now even more on you when your whole (fighter) team decides to die to bomber return fire - meaning the outcome becomes even more a random event

  • Especially in small 6 vs 6 - 8 vs 8 matches the defensive guns /turrets are the decisive factor - 2 matches ago 4 friendly B-25 killed 5 enemies, one fighter got a kill on a B7A2 (was on Saipan - replay link) - in a 6 vs 6 match…

  • The imho way too strong damage model creates reckless game play - by bomber players. In this match (replay link) i played 2 vs 9 in a FR-1 together with a friendly B-26 after 7 minutes because their bombers mowed down my team. The B-26 killed an enemy Pe-2 in a head-on, damaged a 109 and baited a Fw 190 for me. And we won the match (after ~ 20 minutes) as their players succumbed due to prior damages or way too risky actions…

  • In my first match i faced a 4men squad in Bv 238s killed my whole team. Just 2 of them tried to bomb - but all used their planes as fighters - forcing me to play around them you can’t risk to get near them

As a final remark:

Bombers are not unkillable as described - but even perfectly executed attacks within gunner dead zones are not rewarding as the risk is way too high.
