War Thunder Should Rename the “Falkland Islands” Map to “Islas Malvinas” (At Least in Spanish or in Countries That Recognize Them as Such)

Just inplement the island as 1914 instead of 1982…
It will also make it be a new naval map

In France we don’t call these islands “falklands” but “Malouines” (name of the people who live in Saint Malo, who were fishermans known for living in those island). And if I’m not wrong this is where the “malvinas” name come from.

Well, the thing is UN recognises the territory as Falkland islands and the in the Spanish language as Malvinas…
So i don’t see the issue for the map in Spanish (ONLY) to be renamed, as it is officially recognised as well.
The Spanish name comes from the French name Îles Malouines , the name given by the French explorer Louis-Antoine de Bougainville in 1764… So the term is used way before ^Falklands^.

I’m not going political here and also i’m from none of these nations and i 'd recommend you don’t go political because we in the Balkans would be happy to assist you!!
But i understand that in different languages the same thing can be a different name/word.
Hellas/ Hellada/Ελλάδα - Greece -Yunanistan (Turkish language) -Yavan (Hebrew) - Grecia (Spanish /Italian) …

The Falklands are what the poeple who actually live there call it so its The Falklands. Such a silly argument.

Ok from now on don’t call Greece -Greece because we call us Hellas…
Kidding ofc.
It’s the spanish term for the same thing…UN recognises that name as well.
In English it’s Falkland Islands though.

Argentina got smoked. Take your L and move on.

Now I am hungry

No offense - but this dispute was decided in 1982. And you had your revenge in 1986 with the “Hand of God” incident.

Technically seen there is always the possibility for a “re-match”. Just ensure that your torpedo technicians are trained this time.

No I know. I am saying in general. And in jest.

By the way, i forgot to say…
That was his ^flaw^ in waht he asks… not the term. The reason.
Terminology alone, what he says it’s ok… The reason though, i’d say no as well.

There was no flaw. You’re both misunderstanding me and now the simple half joking comment is lost.

I was referencing a separate thing. The sinking of the Belgrano. Since we’re on the Falklands War topic. That’s all.

wow did THAT go over your head

you need to lower the IQ expectations for your jokes here it seems. These people seem a little too serious and high strung for that kind of thing.

Edit:

@Selene_NZ “cool and how does that affect me exactly?”

Hello

The Falklands map has the correct and appropriate name as intended in the English client of the game. This will not be changed as this is what the islands are known as in English: [Development] Falkland Islands for Air Battles & Visual Improvements to Berlin and Kuban! - News - War Thunder

There is already a suggestion report to rename the map in the Spanish client and this has been forwarded: Community Bug Reporting System

Update: Spanish localisation will be fixed in a future update.
