War Thunder "Ninth Wave" - Changelog

Update 2.55.0.13, revert back.

I play the Arcade mode & find the last upgrade making the game so un- UN-enjoyable. I play arcade mode as I’m not interested in the realistic mode game play.

This should be enjoyable & I now find myself not enjoying this new patch/upgrade.

we don’t need & find the damage to boats confusing with the separate numbers for crew & boat, A simple % on both would be way easier to interoperate.

the invincible time in the spawn is a change we have put up with that did take some enjoyment away.

the sound of the torpedo’s hitting land like you have hit a target is not needed, just hits on boats friendly or foe will do.

I have been playing Boats for years & these changes are too much for the average player & not needed.

So unnecessary for what was a good name. Stop trying to polish a turd that no longer needs polishing to a port for mobile rubbish.

To ANY other one )))

In the linked report, the reporting player stated the opposite, that the max speed on water was 9 km/h and should be corrected to 8 km/h. Is this the actual change which occurred?

We cant go 1 update without RWRs being utterly broken, cant even enjoy this game

@Stona_WT
This is historically incorrect for many aircraft. S-5KP variant was introduced much later than the base S-5 variants. Many aircraft only ever used S-5K rockets, not S-5KP. Even more distressing is the fact that the S-5K seems to be completely removed from the game!! I cannot select it even in custom loadout. Aside from breaking historical immersion, it is also a categorical nerf to all aircraft which previously had it!

The S-5KP rockets are heavier and much slower at 480 m/s, compared to the fast S-5K rockets with speed of 570 m/s. That’s a 324 km/h difference. Not only did you add the S-5KP to aircraft which never used them, you also took away the ability to use the historically correct and superior in speed version. Absolutely unforgivable.

(Type 57-1 for reference, since I couldn’t get a screenshot of S-5K as it is completely removed ingame. Type 57-1 was an exact copy of the S-5K rocket ingame (wiki link for proof). It hasn’t been removed or replaced with S-5KP equivalent. This shows that the change was inconsistent as well as unhistorical).

The change is consistent with the decline in Gaijin’s value of historical accuracy, Gaijin’s obsession with “dumbing down” and simplifying the game, removing player freedom/choice, and overall pattern of pushing unwanted changes without player approval. The S-5KP is dramatically better in penetration and explosive mass, it’s more powerful in most respects, and is a buff overall to anything which previously had S-5K. These facts are an example of unhistorical and unnecessary buffs to Russian vehicles.

Camera problem in Spectator mode is still not fixed (No 360° Free View in Spectator?).

Not only that, but gameplay wise it has gutted the already very small group of rockets usable for the BP mission to get kills with rockets lighter then 5kg. That mission is now extremely hard to complete given there are only a dozen or less aircraft that can do it anymore.

Lmao I just noticed, it’s exactly 5.01 kg. You couldn’t make this up, it is so absurdly comical.

This change blanked out my custom presets…

@Stona_WT Sorry for tagging but did AN/MPQ-64 Sentinel have its radar rotation speed corrected this update?

Long term Naval Arcade user feedback:
As many above have mentioned, such as @Apvalus @Red … The changes to the UI are horrible:

  • The crew training screen is difficult to read and navigate
  • The vehicle status in game (crew, flooding, etc) is just confusing. I have no idea why you would go from a simple percentage as it was, to crew number (that is different on every boat), it is so difficult to keep up with… just have two percentages. Remember, this is arcade, not realistic mode!
  • You cannot read the first part of the armament as it now scrolls. ie. you miss how many guns there are until it scrolls back.
    Sound changes
  • The sound of the torpedoes missing the target and hitting the shore, etc is totally pointless?
    Graphics:
  • Looks a little nicer in general, my first positive for the post!
  • Explosions are excessive
  • Torpedoes can now be seen from miles away, I am not sure why that came back?!
    Bugs:
  • Secondary weapons (bottom row), stops working during play, especially battleships. You need to ctrl e, then load another type for it to work
  • Graphics through the view finder will go from one weird colouring to another, then back.
  • The mini map goes blank, then comes back.

I am really confused if you tested this release or got feedback from the player base first? There are way too many terrible UI changes in one patch.

Please stop going towards “mobile” style, this is a PC game and arcade mode should be arcade, fun. Not “un- UN-enjoyable” as @Red would put it. That guy is really a wordsmith!

It did on the dev atleast

When will they increase the combat rating of the Pantsir-S1? When will they increase the combat rating of the BMPT Terminator? Will there be any update without a buff to the Soviet nation? Every fucking battle is an overrated victory for the Red nation, no compromises. I’m tired of playing as the Soviets, let me play as other nations. You simply won’t let me. You even buffed the T-72; at 9.3 BR, it was the most durable tank anyway.

rejoice GBT155 players

Sure love it when a 155mm one-shotter can reload faster then most medium tanks at its BR.

Should this capability be limited to AESA? PESA can’t multiple beams.

Personally I think that unlocking the turret traverse and moving the turret by hand doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, since you’re not going to move the turret that way while the vehicle is on the move or when the vehicle is at a slope.

It also requires an extra step to aim the gun, since aiming the gun requires the use of the handwheel.

The only time it comes into play is for a stationay vehicle, that quickly needs to turn the turret,.
Or maybe just as a convenice for not having to hand crank the turret 180°.

For combat conditions I don’t really see any point for this system to be implemented into WT.

I like how the camo net not only covers all the view ports on the sides and for both drivers but also how it covers the gun optic as well.

How it should like from gunner and driver view:

i dont like what they did with the stat cards. now the details i need are harder to get to i.e. armour penetration, protection (just says something like steel armour) etc.

I have to say I am not a big fan of the increased internal module modelling, especially the turret baskets, but just in general. While I understand the desire to bring a touch more realism to the game, it at certain point its just not fun to see half or all of your vehicles functionalty just stop from even something like glancing shot. If this modelling came with some form of a reduction in repair times, to balance out the increased number of components, then I don’t think it would feel as frustrating or just flat out not fun.

And even though Gaijin or Smin can come on here and say this…

…is the actual module and not what we see in the x-ray of the vehicle, I simply don’t trust them because why would you bother to model the full basket if you are just modelling the floor and the horizontal ring? Why spend the effort. This is probably the main reason I personally have scaled back my time in the game. I get the the intent of it but it just doesn’t add to the fun of the game when someone hits the tail end of your engine bay and it takes out your turret ring as well.
