wasn’t this supposed to be a pack?

ok, takeaways after a night playing some (3.0 GE Naval RB and 5.3 GE Ground RB):

*the new airplane sounds are something else when you’re underneath them. I like em.
*naval RB is fine for planes now, AI AA is really toned down. No cheap kills by the other side’s bots. Not a total hunting ground for airplanes like AB used to be, but still good.
*torps and aerial bombs behaving within believable parameters I thought, boat guns too
*frame rate definitely took a bit of a hit, still playable. Most of the slowness was on load, for me.
*kill card was a bad idea, I’m afraid. They will likely lose some number of players over it (not all at once, but gradually… if getting killed cheaply twice by the same guy in a row doesn’t discourage you even just a little from playing on, you’re not human)

is anyone else having random fps issues at random times?

I’ve been doing 7.7 and im almost thinking its been toned down a little too much. Had a He-177 fly over ahead whilst in the Rodney and all my guns blazing and did not even hit it once. He was flying level and not even all that high.

It seems we now have a clear picture of what Gaijin’s developers actually do in the office. Instead of steadily addressing issues and improving the game, they spend months doing little—only to rush in a chaotic flood of changes right before a patch deadline.

And honestly, I’m not sure which is worse. If they actually worked consistently during the three months between updates, they might introduce so many changes that fixing them would be impossible.

Then comes a month of so-called “testing,” where—by some miracle—they fail to spot any major bugs. In reality, they just ignore reports on the forums and the bug-reporting system.

They create a dedicated forum thread announcing the test server, yet don’t bother reading player feedback about critical issues. Instead, they redirect everyone to the bug-report portal—which, by the way, is a complete mess.

The staff handling these reports often don’t even understand the problems. And if reproducing a bug requires launching the game? The report gets ignored. It’s almost as if they’re incentivized to close tickets quickly rather than actually fix things properly.

I mean, that’s what they said it would be: “Now, the probability of an AI gunner shooting down an aircraft stays high only if the aircraft flies head-on to the gun and does not maneuver.”

Crossing targets overhead need to be engaged by humans now, I guess.

I know they’ve got to make money and I’ve spend a decent amount on this game but they shouldn’t be making more and more premiums each update to replace tech tree tanks

Well… thats kinda the issue, perhaps I need to go and find the replay, he basically did fly straight and didnt maneuver. and the guns did not hit

So, do the guns still screw over torp bombers but now don’t also screw over fritz x carriers?

I’ve yet to be in a situation for something coming straight at me with a torp. But I did have to tank his Fritz X

Would be quite peeving if it still hinders torp bombers. Far more skillful than just dropping a fritz. Or if it hinders even skip bombing.

The kill notification in the middle of the screen is about as annoying as it gets. It was fine how it was. Now i have to click resume to get it off so I can get to my next vehicle. Put it up in a corner or something and make it small. Why make something that was decent worse. Not happy with this change. Put it back to how it was already. 1 day and I’m already sick of it.

I think it just needs a little polish.

But certainly no excuse for not giving Warspite and Renown HE-VT now

Was looking at Warspite to give a reason to take wyvern into naval. But doesn’t look the most flash 😿

Which is a shame, is about the only British boat I’ve any fondness for. That, and Dreadnought.

I’ve not done Warspite stock grind, so cant comment fully, but Barham was okay. A bit heavy, but fine (at least before this update)

To me “head on at the gun” means “head on at the gun,” so the plane would have to be diving at you :)

Eh… I think a bomber, flying level only 2km away should be eventually hit after 5-10 seconds or so to get lead?

Would be the most sound logic.
