War Thunder is dying of slop. But the playerbase can save it if we stop being passive and actually unified.
The good:
Best vehicle roster in any MMO (aviation + tanks + navy, WWII to Cold War)
Three combat domains in one game
Historical variety is unmatched
The bad (current 2026 issues):
Copy-paste slop tanks everywhere. Made-up vehicles instead of real history. AI textures with the Gemini logo still visible. Event rewards are soulless compared to the old proud grinds like Object 279.
Developers ignore every bug report. I’ve seen people provide evidence on round performance and get told “we don’t believe that.” Feedback channel = shredder. They only care when revenue drops.
May 2023 economy update was a disaster (raised repair costs, charged for ammo/crew). 50k negative Steam reviews forced them to roll it back. But the grind is still brutal. FOMO still forces wallet opens.
Naval mode is abandoned but they keep adding costly models. Infantry is clunky. Positional sound is broken. CAS is way too cheap. Russian vehicle bias is obvious (T-90M got spall liners while NATO reports say “not a bug”).
New player experience is horrific. People quit immediately. They’d rather spend on advertising than fix the core game.
The real problem:
The playerbase is fractured. Too many people waste paychecks buying the same copy-paste vehicles over and over. Issues are so scattered they drown each other out.
But we can fix this:
1)STOP pre-ordering copy-paste premiums. That’s the biggest signal. Don’t buy slop.
2)Upvote forum posts. 10k+ upvotes is hard for Gaijin to ignore.
3)Write Steam reviews that mention specific issues (slop, economy, bias).
4)Fill surveys with the same complaints. Repetition creates pressure.
5)Share this with friends. Make pre-ordering slop socially unacceptable.
Focus on 3 core demands: end copy-paste premiums, fix onboarding, reinvest profits into development.
Keep it clean. Target management, not individual devs. Stay professional.
War Thunder isn’t dying because it’s unfair. It’s dying because Gaijin turned it into slop and we keep buying it. Stop the revenue. Upvote. Unify. Protest.
If we get together we can force change. If we stay passive the game dies.
Don’t pre-order. Not this time
