War Thunder Infantry: Testing Details

Its you again? Now on .com forum?

You already told me that you dont want infantry realistic and infantry arcade and you think that they should make just “a single infantry gamemode 16vs16 no bots, on small tunnel maps, without the ability to spawn your own tank/heli and with killstreak mechanic instead”.

But lets be realistic, they WILL add at least two separate gamemodes - arcade and realistic. As they did for tanks and naval. And once again I am asking you what do YOU think will be the difference between arcade and realistic, in your perception of the “ideal infantry mode”? If both will have killstreak mechanic, 16vs16 no bots on small tunnel maps, what is the difference? Just markers?

In WT they already added 3x more squad controls than enlisted did in 5 years of development. I think Gaijin can make them an actually good mechanic.

I would give them a try. In worst case scenario bots will be just spare lives on the battlefield.

Well there’s a victory for wishful optimism over the evidence!!

I mean, I said that they already made more bot controls than enlisted did in 5 years. Have you seen an F1 infantry page from the devserver?

Isnt that the evidence that they are… more hardworking to make bots a great mechanic?

They are the same company - you realise this, right??

In any case, I can’t see the infantry vs tanks with realistic damage model balance in 16 vs 16 no bots.

Single shell can wipe entire squads sometimes, tanks will be just op without the spare respawns right here on the battlefield, without more targets, without more meat.

All 16vs16 infantry shooters are arcade. Without vehicles or with arcade vehicles with HP that are made of cardboard. Realistic infantry 16vs16 no bots just wont work. As realistic naval shooter doesnt work in WT. All naval shooters are arcadey and we see that in WT naval arcade is way more popular than realistic. But still is not arcadey enough to be popular in general.

So what? They did more for warthunder than they did for Enlisted’s main mechanic (at least bots were supposed to be the main mechanic but they NEVER added any more bot controls, never updated them in Enlisted).

And I can’t see them adding 24vs 24, 32vs32 or more battles. Because we are already struggling sometimes with 15vs15 in GRB and people told me on ru forum they want 64vs64, thats ridiculous, we will have 3 minutes queue or what?

2 gamemodes (arcade and realistic), at least 8.0 to 12.0 BR brackets… Thats unreasonable to think we will ever get more than 16vs16 without something like Air SB system with rooms.

They aren’t. Gaijin only publish enlisted, they dont developp it. It’s Darkflow who was owned by Aragonia Group (PMPC SIA)

Enlisted was developed by Darkflow. Although it was absorbed by Gaijin - Gaijin did not create the basis for Enlisted and I dont think it possible to change it in a significant way that late in game’s life cycle. Infantry in WT however? A clean slate.

Yeah, Enlisted was kinda good in some mechanics and worst thing ever in other.

I hope we won’t get the same level of hangar micromanagement as it was in Enlisted.

In Enlisted they already changed that micromanagement like 3 times. In first years we had to earn bronze, silver and gold cards, then go to a separate menue of a shop and buy stuff for these cards. Then open squad menu, chose a single soldier and equip these things on him. It was so painful to equip your squad with better weapons that I just started to fight with basic ones. Then there were upgrades and perks for every single soldier and you had to actually gamble to get a better soldier, lol. It was the worst experience ever. Then they deleted bronze and silver cards, added silver. Then they added presets, abolished the shop and made you buy stuff from the soldier’s menu. It was way better then.

And in WT, I hope, we won’t get a grind to upgrade every single soldier, only hangar slots grind. I hope we won’t have to buy every single grenade or weapons for every squad member. I hope they will make the game actually enjoyable.

Cuz they have their hands completely free from the ties of already existing community. Cuz infantry mode can be just something completely new for WT.

Oh yes… giant gingerbread houses and garden gnomes… something to overshadow anime troops with giant b00bs.

meh, the hangar menu in WT is pretty much the same across Naval, Air and Ground, so dont expect anything groundbreaking from already existing aspects (“crew”/slot management and upgrade screen). There is, however, how squads are individually being customized, but by the looks not to different from changing ammo type on modifications screen

And thats good, this means that we won’t have to upgrade every single soldier, get perks for every single soldier and such. Hope we will just upgrade crew in general.

And thats good too. Maybe they will be like changing ammo or like bomb’s presets. Where you have 5 slots for 5 soldiers and you can just select existing presets without actually buying stuff and manually choosing it.

That is exactly why I love this bots, because if someone is counting on me, they don’t know whether they are currently shooting at me or the bots

ive played enlisted onece, and in my very first real player match, i got like 50 kills?

Well, I get like 150-200 per match. With regular squad size of 5 its more like… 30-40 squad wipes / regular shooter kills.

Its kinda easy if you are either sitting in a vehicle for the whole match and spamming HE shells or actively running at enemy lines with your assaulter squads.

i think gajin should just remove AI squads, there actualle very annouying, but they have one good fearture, revenge kill. but i think it is better for a 30v30 battle withe each real players, but it will feal like Counterstrike, so with ai bots it will feal like a real battle field unless its a 100v100

50.cal is gonna carry, trust me

Oh, on berlin map once I built a stationary DSHK heavy machinegun nest. I got 300+ kills that time, iirc, it was insane, planes were falling, APCs were burning, enemy squads, snipers, machinegunners, assaulters - all were grinded into a “lego pieces set”.
