War Thunder Infantry: Testing Details

i think its cool but would be interesting to get lone fighters mode too so its more like squad or batllefield so we have chance to choose how we want to play (player + ai squad or just player vs player)
i think that would be best option for gaijin so everyone can have fun and play as they want.

I would pay for anime infantry

You know WT has a PVE mode(s) rite?

At the scale of WT 1 for 1 dismounts aren’t practical. They aren’t going for Battlefield or CoD hero game, but simulating small units, which is the infantry squad or team. In that, there has to be some level of automation to the individual dismounts since you can’t be in first person to all of them simultaneously.

I would also pay for anime girl skins, since skins from others can be disabled in War Thunder, that’s absolutely no problem. I see my anime girl skins, and others see their realistic soldier skin.
If it’s even to my disadvantage because they are easier to spot, then it can’t bother anyone else.

Special night ops events

This is weird how people can’t understand that:

  1. There are two modes, arcade and realistic. I think if you want lone fighters mode (which was the least popular mode in Enlisted, they removed it because its just not balanced to fight 1 vs 1 against a tank, for example), so you can go to infantry arcade mode with markers, lone fighters (I doubt there will be bots in arcade mode because of markers. Imagine 20 players with 5 bots each. 100 units with markers above them? Thats ridiculous.) So, I think, Infantry Arcade will be the mode you want - Battlefield-like. But why do you want realistic to be Battlefield-like too? Let Gaijin do things on their own, people like GRB exactly because it is not a copy of WoT.
  1. Fighting 10 vs 10 or even 15 vs 15 on 3 point maps is just boring. you get 3 to 5 players defending the point. Then a tank arrives, fires a single HE shell that kills these 5 soldiers (Because its a HE shell, have you seen a realistic HE shell in Enlisted? They will obliterate infantry!). Thats it, tank won. To counter it you can make 2x, 3x more players - but then queue time will increase drastically. Or you can lock more than 1 tank per team, but thats a horrible idea. “I bought a tank, I want to play with it, but I can’t because there is a teammate in his tank. What will I do? I will be angry, I will scream at him, I will go and blow his tank up to spawn on my own tank” - probably typical player.

  2. What if Gaijin actually upgraded the bots? I saw images where it shows that they added some useful commands to bots. The thing Enlisted never did in 5 years of its development. I remember playing Active Matter where bots are kinda… normal? Why do you think it will be bad? If so, look at the bots just as at a quick respawn feature. You don’t have to sit in respawn menue, you don’t have to run for minutes to the point again. You can just respawn in your AI soldier right here, where the battle is. Isn’t it the same system as “respawn on teammate” thing from regular shooters, but without appearing out of thin air?

Idk, I would just wait til the CBT to actually test this thing and then give the feedback needed. I think two separate gamemodes: 1) Arcade without bots, with smaller maps, with markers and limited vehicle killstreak mechanic; 2) And Realistic with squads, with normal maps, without markers and regular vehicle “Respawn Point” mechanic. - is the ideal outcome for WarThunder infantry. It will appeal to both Battlefield-like arcade audience and more tactic-esque audience.

The worst things with Enlisted bots system are:

  1. Bots are useless cuz you can’t even order them to sit or to cover you, they are just spare respawns and thats it.
  2. Squad management is horrible, you have to buy every flask, every mine, grenade, bag, pouch, weapon, then equip it to your soldiers, you have to upgrade every soldier with his own XP levels, you have to do that for EVERY SQUAD YOU GET.
  3. Bots are dumb because smart bots are sniping humans without player’s interaction. Because there is no means of interaction, look at the part 1.

And all three, or, at least, two, seems like, will be solved in WarThunder. They are adding basic commands to bots, so they can cover you and there will be no horrible management of every soldier’s perks, weapons, flasks, pouches, bags. Or it will be at much lesser extent.

No matter what they will do with bots, bots = DoA.

Hopefully there will be a zombies mode for the lols. If that has IP issues then maybe a man vs robot mode.

Do decorations/camos carry over from the regular game if we own the vehicles?

Scrap the bots please, we don’t need bots to have a squad just let us queue up with as many people as we want. If you could change one thing to make the game better, removing the bots is your best option. I cannot tell you how many times I’m playing enlisted and my ai squad has zero survival instinct, getting snipped one by one just for me to realize I no longer have a squad.

That would be cool. Likely not for the test run. Wonder what squad decorations are going to look like.

There not bots they are soldiers you can switch too

They are both - when you are not playing a specific soldier it is being operated by the AI - it is a bot.

In Enlisted you can affect the behaviour of the AI withing limits - generally limiting it’s location, but they are still as dumb as firetruck and get slaughtered stupidly.

Well that sounds like most warthunder players so I won’t notice the difference.

If this Game mode works out then it will attract Players from different games

Sorry, but the heart of Squad is communication. Just because you have a weapon in your hands on a battlefield doesn’t make it “like” Squad.

Infantry mode will never come close. As for Battlefield, yeah, a really silly COD clone, I believe in it.
