bascially, i got a new mac (m4 air), redownloaded wt through the official launcher, but i’ve ended up with this weird icon for war thunder. in addition, if i try launching wt now, it launches as metal 64bit, instead of the usual fullscreen i used to have with my mac m1 air.
is there a way to solve this?
I ran into this exact same icon issue when moving to a new Mac recently!
The generic icon is almost always fixed by rebuilding your Mac’s icon cache. A quick Google search for “how to rebuild mac icon cache” should give you the terminal command—it’s usually the easiest fix.
As for the Metal 64bit thing, that’s just the new API/rendering mode for War Thunder on macOS. Your old M1 might have defaulted to something else, but that new mode is generally better. You should be able to force the “Fullscreen” display mode you want from inside the launcher’s settings (the little wrench icon next to the “Play” button).
