My friend started match while i had 6.7 preset equipped, either way it shouldnt survive so many HE shells
idk, looks like you shot too high for the overpressure wave to actually pen the hull roof
It chose to die by roland💔
Personal experience isn’t evidence of something being more or less armored.
T-90M has a bit more UFP armor than BMPT, and significantly more turret armor.
BMPT’s armor is closer to T-80U than T-90M.
And Leopard 2A7V - Strv 122 has more armor than BMPT.
mig-21bis with no flares on release vs f-4e with aim 7es and 9js
BMPT’s APDS against the base M1. Yes there’s a very small area to pen, but the BMPT is firing dozens of rounds to the Abrams’s single round in the same time frame. Not to mention by the time the Abrams would have reloaded your barrel and tracks are gone meaning there’s nothing you can do.
If we ignore the fact that BMPT’s turret armor values is higher than sgr m/60 explosive penetration values, yes it shouldn’t have survived that many direct hits, but it’s everything instanding for a overpressure score. Considering that the turret hatches are cast armor, meaning variable armor values, this can severly affect the final penetration power of a penetrator or any other projectile in general.
The BMPT is also a volumetric nightmare with how the armor layout is positioned. The slightest angle or bit of movement can nullify weakpoints in an instant. The LFP alone is 3 separate plates, the primary 80mm plate, with a 60mm plate covering ~90% and a 20mm plate on top of that covering ~50%.
People need to stop calling over-lapping plates “volumetric”, cause they’re opposite things.
Really? explain
Ironically I did kill a BMPT-72 with my XM246 by getting an AP-I round to ricochet at 90 degrees straight down into the roof on the turret and ammo racking it.
You forgot the BMPT/BMPT-72 have ATGM do.
I didn’t forget, I was showing penetration capability of the cannons specifically.
Volumetric rounds are ammo with width as well as length.
Volumetric armor is armor without overlapping plates.
And overlapping plates is what causes armor to have 2x or more thickness on some pixels, as well as cause deflections of ammo.
Overlapping plates impact both pixel rounds [which thankfully don’t exist anymore, as well as volumetric rounds.
And overlapping plates not getting blamed when volumetric is blaming for doing literally nothing wrong only harms criticism of features causing non-ideal situations.
Ah yes peak, a guy getting mad at the game like his life depend on it
But using his own personal experience as “evidence” is never a good idea and is just used to rile up the crowd. Even with BMPT, average WR for RU at 10.7 - 12.7 is 51.8 %, which is far from doomsday he’s trying to portray.
