War Thunder "Firebirds" - Changelog

Anyone getting “authorization server unavailable error”? I was able to log in this morning.

Their true potential lies within the combination of small size, great mobility, thermals, LRF and the ability to scout.

That doesn’t sound like potential, just sounds like making the most of a bad situation and that is still bad.

Luchs is like a Wiesel but even worse.

I suppose you’ve never tried teaming up with someone using a 155mm howitzer

Why do i need a Luchs for that and not just anything with a drone?

Mind pointing me towards a vehicle with a scouting drone at 7.3?

Doesn’t have to be 7.3 as howitzers can kill whatever, what does the Luchs do that’s different from any other vehicle with scouting?

Thermals and a LRF at 7.3 with better mobility than the Wiesel

Wiesel is a smaller profile, and don’t think the Luchs even get LRF, and pretty sure the Wiesel has better mobility.

Does it not get a LRF? If that is the case then it could go down in BR.

I was under the impression it had one, however without it the thermals really are mostly a gimmick. About the mobility I am certain the Luchs is superior, as it’s higher weight means it isn’t nearly as likely to just fly around, it probably highly depends on the map though.

I don’t think the Luchs will beat the Wiesel in any mobility test, the only issue is that the WIesel will get hindered by obstacles a lot more because Gaijin does not understand what a ton is.

The Wiesel is still a 3 ton vehicle but Gaijin think that means 30kg, when in reality that’s a small truck that shouldn’t get stuck behind wooden fences.

Profile page = huge mistake!
Map “improvements” = make me want to quit playing
Ammo boxes = ROFL what were they thinking?

what with the ammo boxes

Unlimited ammo for SAM for example?

It’s only a 1 time refill.

Aight, thanks for enlightening me about that. I’d personally say a BR of 6.0 would be fine for it, not sure if I would put it at 5.7 even if the SUB-I-II is at 5.3.
Comparing the Luchs with some other vehicles, 7.3 might be based on the XM800T.

Fair, though wheeled vehicles would probably also have better mobility if Gaijin got everything right

Also, just realized the Luchs has a reverse gear, so that definitely is a plus for it

Wheeled vehicles used to be good, but now I feel wheeled is worse than tracked yet still balanced as if they’re superior, especially on sand maps and such they’re crap and you feel like a truck trying to turn.

The new sounds are genuinely so bad, are they just a copy+paste of the F-5s gun sounds?

They sound like a bb gun instead of a powerful 30mm.

Solid update, but im once again sad to see no update to the pen of the 20mm DM43/DM63 (used by Marder 1, XM803, Rooivalk, SuperHind, Type 87 RCV, etc.)

Both types of ammo are massively under-performing, especially at range, will this ever be looked into? They often do not have enough to defend against even other light vehicles that can destroy them quite easily in contrast. The new Luchs uses this as its primary weapon, but does not have the luxury of stealth to be lucky enough to employ it. I would hope this would bring attention to it.

It could also just have it massively under-performing ammo fixed… (there is a thread and many more items showing these numbers if you are curious.)
