War Thunder crashes on AMD graphics cards

Since a minor update a while ago, the game has been crashing during or after matches.

It happens quite frequently.
My PC specs are as follows:
CPU: i5 9600k
Graphics card: MSI Vega 56
RAM: 32GB
Storage: SSD
I’m using DirectX 11.

This is my first time creating a thread on a forum, so I apologize if I’ve made a mistake in creating the thread or if it’s in the wrong category.

Some basic things to try for any system when crashes occur in any game:

  1. Update your drivers (or revert back to old ones if your drivers were updated just before the issues started)

  2. Remove any custom content you have installed.

  3. Delete the “cache” and “compiledShaders” folders from your War Thunder install and do a file verification check on the game so that it re-downloads them (and checks other files to see if they are broken).

There is also a bit of a more advanced thing to look at but i don’t recommend clicking around places if you don’t know what you’re doing:

If you’re running windows you can check the “Event Viewer” to see if your PC is throwing any errors when the fps drop happens.

Search for the “Event Viewer” and open it, click “Windows Logs” top left, double click “System” in the list that comes up. Now you can see all events on your PC and the timestamps for them, look for any warnings or errors that happened close to when the game crashed.

If you’re still having issues then you can bug report it here: Gaijin.net // Issues (just search a bit first so that you don’t report something that is already reported and known about)

A guide on how to report bugs can be found here: ([Navigation] Technical Knowledge Base | War Thunder Wiki) , for crashes without error codes there are some specific steps to take and files they require to investigate the issue.
