You would need like what, 100 gb, just for war thunder. Then ram, processor and other stuff. And of course main problem of mobile gaming. You would need to cool your phone constantly or “more powerful than generic laptops” turns into stuttering (thanks to trottling) molten rock. And battery ofc. Even so called gaming laptops dont last much and here we have a phone.
you can connect an Xbox controller to a phone. or get a controller grip so its like a worse nintendo switch. its also not like games dont work with touch screen controls either

72GB and the game is fully operational. hardly using any of my phones storage so its not that big of a deal

I think you underestimate how powerful modern phones have gotten. phones are no slouch anymore, havent really been for over a decade now
dang, my phone is like 4 years old and the beefier mobile games heat it up
Are all of those 256gb free currently? Could you show us amount of free memory?
Like this:

Also I was taking as reference size of installed steam version on my pc which was that.
You might be overestimating average value which includes users from not so rich places like brazil etc. Thats like entire reason why there is smaller wt port exists and why some play some pubg copy even despite pubgm is already there.
Sure. I admittedly hardly use my phone but I genuinely can’t see any way to fill up such a huge amount of space on such a device. Bear in mind my phone hasn’t got that much storage Vs flagship phones from larger companies than Nothing.tech
The HD textures and stuff are less important than on PC so the base client I think is the better comparison
even when ive tried benchmarking my phone it didnt really get too hot and still ran well. I do have a decently specced mid range phone from last year in fairness. a modern mid range phone stomps a flagship from 4 years ago in performance. Going from a pixel 4a to nothing 3a pro was like when i went from a ps3 to a PC with a RTX 3060, and that doesnt discredit how punchy the ps3 is
By the way, you could try running dont starve together on your phone as experiment. Full fledged port too. Tho its much less complex and demanding than wt. But it was enough for my device to show difference between it and other games like terraria or balatro.
that game is on the original nintendo switch, which is similar to an iphone X in power. Zero doubt that it would run without hitch
Yet afaik iphone x can only have free to play ultra low “call of duty” instead of proper port like in switch case.
Forgot to mention porting game to another device also costs money. And while switch is just couple models, phones are hundreds of different brands with different stuff inside.
thats more from the COD devs being rather mid in skill. those games are only really known for awful skins and bloat nowadays sadly.
resident evil runs on phones now. the power is more than there, the main limitation is the small screen of a phone
Judging by amount of big games ported to phones it might be something other than cod devs tbh.
On iphones. Android gets some strategy slop with re models. Unless Im missing something.
I still disagree with this statement for reason I described here:
Also thats the reason why we still have ultra low on pc client. Its not for random tryhards.
Wall of text incoming sorry…
emerging markets like india, pakistan and brazil arent getting inferior phones to us nowadays. Thats a bit of an outdates perspective on what they have access to. mobile gaming is massive there as its the most powerful hardware thats very easily accessible, just as it is in china who is quite a lot further developed of the newer modern powers in the world. The jokes about eastern european CS GO players only having potato PCs and whatnot are very out of date overall now.
ULQ is a leftover from when the game was targeting pcs with about as much power as a googlebook has today, theres still some people using those systems today which is why its still around, most users are tryhards tho sadly.
We have seen crossplay compatible games of varying fidelity per platform before plenty of times, most of which are MMOs like war thunder is. the concept is proven.
Modern phones and tablets that are mid-range to flagship can do it and do it well if the effort is actually put in.
Yes, but switch and mobile are all ARM systems and linux is the basis of Android, WT already supports ARM architecture systems and it supports linux. getting the game to run at all on the kernel type and hardware type is the hard part, and they have already done it.
WT is already a gatcha game, which is what all of the biggest mobile games are already. Mobile games make a hell of a lot of money, it would make it back.
Parity between the platforms would also mean that the mobile and everyone else teams could merge, more devs on the same project means that things could be done quicker from the manpower increase.
plus the content parity will stop any disappointment when a mobile gamer cant access X thing from PC or vice versa as that just wont be an issue any longer. Also means that if a friend only has a tablet and you only have an xbox or something you can squad up together.
Well my phone is absolute ass so I wouldn’t be able to run it anyway (64gb of storage, and a good 15 of that goes to Hatsune Miku Colorful Stage)
They get same phones the difference is in amount of people who can afford buying stronger phones.
Iphone can be available everywhere but in some places you need significantly more to obtain it. And thats just looking at it in vacuum, without bringing up expenses on living and other stuff.
That really depends on what part of eastern europe we are talking about and what part of that part as well. Also cs itself evolved to source 2 itself which raises requirements for pcs but like whatever.
Are they as complex tho? Also somehow less complex wot didnt get ported, mobile players are still stuck with “mini” variant basically. And outside of mmos only why dont we have arma reforger, squad, cs2, dota2 and many other famous games ported on mobile devices as full fledged ports with crossplay support? Is Valve, giant of gaming industry, and other companies also stuck in that “stereotypical” mindset?
Spoiler
Gaijin and details. Heh.
Not always the case. For example, Dr studios (mobile port of terraria) and Playdigious (mobile port of dst) work on projects separately without merging with relogic or klei.
As person with 1700 hours in mobile terraria (most of those were spent on servers with pc players) on this phone alone I agree with this part. But again, for some reasons many companies, from indies to giants, just dont bother.
I play WTM on a secondhand iPhone 12 Plus, most of the storage is used up by photos, Youtube, pirated music and pirated Evangelion media.
I don’t think I have enough storage for WTPC.
Except Palworld.
yea fair nuff
Why would anyone want that?!?
