Where have we gotten to? It used to be this fun little game you would spend your time having some fun , that i personally learned from my uncle…as years its becoming impossible to play the game on the same device i have been using years now … Even now that k bought a new one last year it still struggles with running the game because it consumes too much power with these “rtx” and unnecessary graphics requirements.
Other than that i also want to mention that the game used to be lets say 30-50GBs… Why is the game now over 100gbs? Full client is 58gb and the most recent update is 7gb , what are you even adding that surpasses the ammount of gb Hoi4 has for instance?
Anyways this is more of a complain and demand for change, because i have been playing this game for ages and i cant stop playing it because you stopped caring about lower capable PCs or Laptops. A solution would be to somehow make the files less big , so we could continue playing the game
My overall issue is that the game has way over the top requirements suddenly when it used to support even the less capable PCs abilities.
Thank you for your time.
Devs want to have as many lower Spec Machines able to play as much as possible… but there comes a time when Recommended Requirements and Lower end Requirements are updated over time due to lack of support for outdated tech and or said tech just cannot keep up with current gaming standards… all Games will update their Lower / Recommended and higher Recommended requirements over time
I still use my 1070ti… and that is now pretty much on the lower limit of the Recommended Requirements for WT and is pretty much on the Lower Limit for current gaming standards…
Developers also want to keep the game size down as much as possible, but as more content is added over time, the size is bound to grow… you can choose what game size to download on the launcher, and that was added ages ago because they understand that not everyone has access to high speed internet
I play on a Lenovo M14L-256 that my school gave and i can say that yes its big and the big updates like the hornet sting today just drain my storage dry i have to constantly delete stuff i dont need.
Luckily, the price of most SSDs and HDDs have gone down a bit
That’s a good point. When I started, I was on a 2015 Toshiba Satellite with Intel Pentium and an iGPU, in about the latter half of 2020 that stopped working for War Thunder, it would no longer boot up (Likely due to the switch to Dagor Engine 6.0).
A year later I got a Lenovo Thinkpad, Intel Core i5-10210U with an iGPU, could get 50 FPS on medium graphics settings (ARB) and about 30 FPS for ground. Nowadays I can get maybe 30 FPS on ULQ in ARB with that laptop.
Luckily, I was able to get ahold of some parts and made myself a gaming PC, which while it can run movie graphics at 100 FPS on average, I wish I could get my brother to play on my old Thinkpad but it’s really just not viable for him. I understand that games update but the fact that within 4 years my FPS on my Thinkpad was effectively halved, it’s quite saddening.
running most any game on integrated graphics is going to be a super rough time.
Especially if you have a i3 or i5 10th gen cpu
this game dosnt require much I used to play on 4k with everthing maxed on a 11 year old card and +70fps
