I’ve had my card information ripped twice (probably from skimmers at gas stations not online related), its a 10-30 minute sitting on hold, 5 minute call, and waiting a few days for a new card in the mail. It’s not a big deal. They don’t make you pay for anything.
Stealing identity is incredibly hard, and usually requires social engineering, that’s why it happens to gullible old people.

I’ve had my social security leaked and am still dealing with it today, believe me it is not anywhere remotely close to fun or easy

Yes, but EAC is very publicly owned by Epic Games, with a very clear chain of legal accountability for their malfeasance, should they or any of their employees ever commit any with their full-kernel level access to gamers’ computers. That’s his point.
